A Great MTB Setup That Can Be Run Tubeless
The Mavic Rim 26er Mountain Bike Wheel w/Shimano hubs & Michelin Force 26x2.25 tires & tubes is a great setup for MTB.The Michelin Force AM tires look sharp & ride really well. They run really well on dry, compacted & semi soft trails. On hard, paved trails they are not too loud. & have almost no road buzz. They do not perform as well in really slick, muddy conditions. The tires are rated for Bar- 1.8 / 4, PSI- 26.1 / 58, Tubes- C4 & are tubeless ready. The Mavic XM119 rims are a very nice MTB entry level rim. Even though they are entry level, they are very much trail worthy. The 26er rims are not tubeless ready but can be made to run tubeless. They have schrader to presta valve adapters installed in the rims. So yes, as setup, they accommodate presta valves. But if you remove the adapters, they’ll accommodate schrader valves. The Shimano hubs spin very smoothly & as they’re Shimano’s, you know they’re quality hubs. These hubs are 6-hole disc brake ready. So buy a set of 6-hole disc rotors & bolt them on.I was very pleased when I received this setup. All the spokes were tight & the rims were true. I did not have to do any adjustments to the set. I was able to convert the wheels to tubeless w/out any real issues. I did this w/Stan’s rim tape 21mm, Stan’s NoTube sealant, & 2 presta valves. The conversion went like this:I removed the green manufacturer rim tape. I just cut it off the rim. I cleaned the inside of the rim w/Simple Green, followed by wiping w/alcohol. This was to be sure there was no oils on the rim to prevent the tape from adhering to the rim. Do the same w/the sidewalls/bead of the tires.Second, after making sure the rims were dry of alcohol, I applied 2 layers of Stan’s rim tape overlapping at the valve hole. Be sure to smooth out any air bubbles while applying & after application of the tape. If you have issue s w/splitting the tape, be sure your not running a fingernail along the tape. I did this when using my thumb so I switched to my index finger. This resolved my tape splitting issue when pressing out bubbles. I then cut a small “X” at the valve hole & used a drill bit (smaller than the valve stem) to open the “X” up into an “O” (well almost an “O”).Install the valve stem tightening down while making sure the O-ring is flush w/the rim.Put the tire on & pump up to set the bead.Release the air from the tire. If your using a sealant syringe like I did, if you haven’t already, remove the valve core & add your sealant. If not, open the tire from a small portion of the rim & add your sealant. I added 3.5oz of Sealant as I knew the valve hole adapter would leak air massively, & it did.Make sure the tire is still on the rim , the valve core is in the valve & pump up over your desired riding pressure. I actually pumped the tires up to 40psi.Rotate the wheels & flip over & over. You want to get the sealant on all sides & every bit of the inside of the tires & rims. The sealant will bubble out of the valve core adapter as it has a split in it, but if you applied the tape tightly around the hole, it’ll seal & stop leaking. Continue to do this for a few minutes until you do not hear or see any sealant leaks. Before riding, check the tire pressure & adjust to desired level. This Mavic, Michelin & Shimano setup has proven to work for me very well, Definitely for the price & build quality, I am very satisfied.Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope you found it helpful.

Good rim/tire combo for a fair price.
I bought these before the riding season was over. Great set of rim/tire. Came in fairly fast. Had some trouble with FEDEX about delivery since seller asks for in person signature. I am at work all day and FEDEX initially refused to drop it off at their drop locations due to box size they said. Eventually they did it anyway.Rims work with disk or rim brakes. True out of the box. High quality combo for not big money.

deal you can't pass
for this price how can you beat this set up with a pair of Michelin force tires thrown in lol !!! Again I only still have my 20 yr old Cannondale super v 26er for cruisin the hood can't say how they would handle the trails but I can't see if they were 27.5 s and boost hubs lol !! and I threw them on the SC 5010 they wouldn't handle the trails quite well.

Very solid wheels
I bought these after getting my bike wheels stolen. I really needed to use my bike and these were the only complete wheel set for my bike's size. They arrived quickly and installation was easy. The build is actually a very good quality, up there with my original tires for my Kona mountain bike.

Can’t beat the price.
Excellent price, hard to complain but the rear wheel was not true out of the box.

5 stars
Haven't mounted yet. Excellent upgrade over big box for the money though.

Fast rolling seem strong.
Fast and seemingly strong wheel set. Great value for a cheaper build or replacement/upgrade.

Good deal.
A great deal at $179. Came back to order another set but they are $199 now. Still not bad since the tubes and tires come mounted.
