Snake! SNAKE! SNAAAAAAKE!
Never one to ever review products on Amazon (as far as I can remember, anyway), I suddenly feel compelled to do so seeing as I impulse-bought a Playstation Classic after consistently hearing about how terrible they are; that probably makes me sound like a moron but, hey. This thing is awesome. I'm not a hardcore gamer (I have a PC that's capable of playing most games on high if not ultra settings, but it's used mostly for media editing and occasionally brutal doom). I did grow up with a couple of Playstations in the house. I didn't play every one of these games back in the day (some of them are admittedly more obscure than others). The games often look, and control, like ass. I'll assume the decision to include games like Persona Revelations, Wild Arms, Intelligent Qube, and Mr Driller was down to some behind-the-scenes difficulties (titles like Crash, Spyro, Tomb Raider and others would have been more warmly received looking at what people are saying online). To me, the Playstation Classic doesn't provide a comprehensive library of the most beloved games of its time (so it's maybe not doing the notion of a "Classic" console - previously executed well by Nintendo and Neo Geo - much justice); but it does provide 20 games which are still a lot of fun to play. It does it in a nice, efficient, well-presented package. It's the easiest possible thing to set up, and there's no need to install, update, prepare, or wait for anything (which is why I'd rather use this than spend time setting up a retropie). Even once you exit a game, save states allow you to immediately pick up where you left off without needing to actually save to the emulated memory cards. If you just want to switch off and play some old games for a few hours, this is a really good package. Even with Resident Evil's ass-like tank controls, or the slightly stiff driving of Destruction Derby, I honestly am having more fun with games than I've done in the past decade. It makes me nostalgic, and I'd happily have paid the original £90 for this. So it doesn't tick every box - who cares!? Neither do you, and people still like you a lot. I do, anyway.

Great playstation
I really don't understand all the negative comments, this is a fantastic piece of nostalgia. Yes the graphics are shockingly bad but that's how they were back in the 90s and within a few moments of playing an old classic you get used to them. The console comes with a hdmi lead but this is to make sure its compatible with with modern TV'S rather than for any HD element. Would it have been nice to see all these games remastered and upscaled with modern graphics? Yes, but then the console wouldn't be able to run them. Of course it would have been nice to see more games on there but I'm really happy with what's here, really brings the memories back. I love it, the wife loves it and now I can show my son how the metal gear legend was born! 5 stars from me, my only real criticism is that the leads for the controllers are far too short so I'll need some extensions but as they are USB that won't cost alot and the omission of a plug seems strange but it does come with the USB power lead so plugs into any phone charger. Hopefully theres a way to get more games in the future but I'm very happy with it for what it is.

It seems to be doing ok for me!
After clocking in an hour on Tekken 3, Rayman and Metal Gear Solid (each), I found myself delighted with the PSOne Classic. While I can't understand the hate for this console so far, I have to thank all the negative reviews for driving the price down ; I managed to get one brand new for £35! Pros: 1 - The Games : while a controversial topic, I am quite happy with the range of games on this device. While there are many amazing games left out (Castlevania, Spyro, Crash...), I think Sony were challenged to pick a range of games that represented the legacy and variety of the PSOne's game library. Bar a few games, I think it is an good selection of games out of the box. While I wish some games like Castlevania were present, there are ways to add more games... unofficially... 2 - Emulation : it seems fine! I have not experienced any audio or visual bugs, with only a few dropped frames that I doubt many will pick up on. Playing Tekken was smooth, as I can't blame the system for getting trashed by the enemy! 3 - Classic Controllers : honestly a better decision then going for the dualshocks, as many have forgotten how imprecise the dualshocks actually were! While Rainbow Six has terrible controls for not having a two-stick controller design, Metal Gear Solid and Tekken are lived off the D-Pad. Plus, you get two controllers bundled in! 4 - Form Factor : smaller than a blu ray case, the PSOne Classic will have no problem fitting on your shelf. Cons: 1 - The debut price : it was simply too high when it retailed in comparison to the other micro consoles. Plus with only 20 games (some downright mediocre), it was a hard sell to many. 2 - Controller Length: its just a tad short , as I have to lean forward on my couch to not yank the console off the TV unit. All the micro consoles have this issue (no doubt its for cutting cost down), but it is still really annoying. There are ways to extend it, but it really shouldnt be the case. 3 - No Power Brick : i had to use my phone charger USB brick to get it running. Again, another cost cut akin to all similar micro consoles, and it is annoying! Overall, I think its a great device for the sum of money I paid. While you can play many of these games on a PS3, PS2 etc., I think it serves well for a PS4 owner who has long rid themselves of their older machines (as the PS4 is unable of any backwards compat). Ignore the negativity and give it a go!

Neuf dans sa boite d'origine avec une manette. Emballage propre et très soigné. Mais attention c'est le format mini, il faut donc les jeux mini qui vont avec car un disque standard ne rentrera pas.
