Jedi or Sith?
My 7 yr old son LOVES these shoes! The fit is perfect although the Velcro is pretty hard for him to rip open so I have to help him sometimes. The benefit is that they wont open while he's walking/running. He loves that he can have one shoe with the red lights and one with the green lights as if they are 'fighting' each other. I would highly recommend these shoes if you have a Star Wars fan in your household. The quality is good and worth the price.

solid shoes, not too trademarked...
Very cute shoes. My 3 year old son ended up choosing a different pair of stride rite light ups (the storm trooper ones). I liked these better though, they are simpler, and the velcro being on only one side (as opposed to the storm troopers, which you have to unfasten from both sides) is nice.

These shoes stay on!
This may be the first pair of shoes I've gotten for my son that has had velcro on the tongue, to keep it from being pushed down into the shoe. I was just looking for an inexpensive pair of shoes for him and was pleasantly surprised by these. the lights are fun and have kept working for several weeks now - he likes changing them from red to green and back. But more importantly, I'm happy and his teachers at daycare are happy that these shoes do not come off! Why don't more manufacturers put velcro on the tongue?!

Awesome lights
Kids can control what color they light up (green or red). My son loves these. Great quality and comfy. The lights work without any issues. My son (not quite 4) is already wearing 12.5 W and has a little room to grow. He can put these very easily on by himslef. Other shoes we got for him are size 13, so these might run a tab big.

JUNK!
We are on our third pair in less than 2 months! The first set the strap started to fall apart within 2 weeks. I called Stride Rite to complain and they sent me a new pair which had a wire not stitched right so it was hanging out of the shoe. I took those back to the store and was given a new pair and they were fine but now after only about a month the lights are going out already!! My son loves them and was crying he was so upset but I won't be wasting my money on these again.

Surprisingly uncomfortable.
We are big Stride Rite fans and buy their shoes all the time. My son has been asking for these light up Star Wars shoes for months, so when the price went down we decided to buy them. Despite how badly he wanted them, he would not wear them for more than a minute because he said they were so uncomfortable. I do find them a little bit stiffer than most, myself. Maybe because of the way the straps go across the shoe. And, as always, Stride Rite runs a little narrow. Gave it 3 stars because it looks nice and the brand typically holds up well.

Outstanding shoe and my son loves the ability to change the color of the flashing lights
My son really likes these shoes and they fit well. They pass the critical "these make my feet happy" test my 3-year old son has for shoes. His feet are about average size for his age (not wide or narrow). The Stride Rite size 9 shoe was comparable with other shoe brands we tested. My son is a big fan of the flashing lights (name a kid who is not) - especially the ability to change the light color between red and green. These shoes were an outstanding value for the price.

Love the quality
My grandson is in love the lights that change color. He was a hit at preschool. I chose a size 12 but it is a little large. I should have purchased a 11 1/2 instead. It is constructed well. He can fasten the Velcro fastener himself. This would be a great gift for any child.
