Would have been a great product if the needles were stronger. The tips of the needles have broken after just using a couple of times. Not happy with the quality of this product. Amazon refused to address the issue since I contact them after the 10 day window. Disappointing response

Great little book! The animals created are so sweet. Instructions are easy to follow and there is plenty of wool. Bought this for my teenage daughter as she loves getting a craft at Christmas and she's really enjoying it. Had trouble getting the bottom of the needle container off though.

I've made 2 little felt animals so far. The mouse and the fox, both which were really fun to do, both also took a long time to do. Though I know all felt animals take a long time to make. I didn't have to much problems with the needles breaking except when I did what I read in the reviews of accidentally pulling out in an angle I didn't put it in at. Also I broke one by being to hard with it by accident. Both were INCREDIBLY fun to make, however this may be due to me liking long crafting projects like knitting, crotchet, painting and etc. So if your not into sitting down for 2 hours or more (all together, obviously do take breaks) to do a project then you might want to go for something more quicker to do. Though they do offer a three needle point device thingy to make it go by quicker, so if you were only to use 2 or one needle it'd go by even slower, though you may have more control over all. They do let you know however that you can go to your local craft store and pick up new felting needles as needed. I'm not sure all craft stores carry them but it was lovely of them to point out that you don't need anything special from them to continue crafting. The booklet is great, colored, and shows what you need to do, and has little diagram things, to compare your shape and size to what you need for your felt pet pal, making it really easy to judge where you need to poke more, or less. The foam bit they include was FINE after one hour of letting it poof out. The reviews complaining about it obviously didn't read the booklet which actually tells you to let it fully poof out for several hours. The foam is really soft though so it makes more detailed bits like tails, ears and such harder to do. The only thing I REALLY wish they had included, since this is meant for kids, is a finger covering. to protect their fingers from the needles a wee bit better. I was REALLY careful and I poked myself twice, though thankfully not hard enough to draw blood, and I'm an adult. I can imagine kids, who may not be as careful getting poked more. So a finger covering would probably be a good investment if you know your child or yourself can get kinda careless at times when getting really into something.

I was pleasantly surprised when I opened this but I should have known it would be good as have yet to see a disappointing Klutz book. Includes almost everything needed to make a selection of cute little felted animals - you pretty much just need scissors in addition so nothing out of the oridinary. The book describes each step in detail with photos and illustrations to assist so I'm sure my daughter (9) will have no problems following what to do. Obviously she'll need supervising as the process involves needles but we craft together anyway so thats not an issue.

Good simple introduction to felting - the concepts presented were simple but clearly explained. The tool seemed sturdy and well designed.

Really cute gift. Actually I bought it for myself. It's great because you can really make dolls just as these! And it's super easy! I will say it took me 45 minutes doing the first. But the next time, I finished within 30 minutes. Also, I'm adult and I poked my fingers twice with the needle! Be very careful! I wouldn't recommend a child do this alone. And maybe guide their hands with the needle tool if they must use it. You can even make any dolls you want with the felt using your own imagination- as I did with making a pig. Real nice kit.
