Smart-dri Waterproof Mattress Pad (award Winner) - Crib

I'd give this a higher rating for construction, however the hang to dry issue is a huge downer! When you need to remake your child's bed, no one wants to have to wait for it to air dry unless that's a personal preference. That should consider changing this in the future. Anyway, I dried it in the dryer on low and of course it shrank. It still fits one of the crib mattresses, barely, but not the other one.

this was great until I washed it and it shrank. I washed in cold water and line dried. Now it doesn't fit the mattress. Not sure why it's an award winner

I just received this mattress pad and I am relieved to see the difference froom a couple of others out there. This pad is very lightweight but feels soft and well made. My wife and I didn't want anything too bulky as the need for a waterproof pad is not as important because the mattresses all are made waterproof. The " Others" I looked at in the stores were very cheap feeling and they would make a crinkle sound when we grabbed them. This pad is silent and fits our mattress perfectly (Sealy Crown Jewel Mattress). I have not used this yet on our child so I cannot comment on whether or not it makes her sweat but I am sure I made the best decision based on what is out there right now. I gave it 4 stars because I wish it had this stretchy material that wraps around the mattress to keep it on there instead of the same elastic band around the bottom edge like we are used to. The stretchy wrap around the mattress would be the only improvement I can see they could make so far.

This is a FANTASTIC mattress pad for a crib. I started with one of those thick "organic" ones when my 5-year old was born. It took FOREVER to dry and I just wasn't impressed. I used this throughout my older child's use of his crib mattress (through age 3.5) and even bought a second one for my toddler. I tumbled dried them on low, never had any problems. It's dries very, very quickly which is a bonus in my eyes. Those heavy and/or plasticy ones take more time in the end, running back and forth to dryer to un-wad so it can dry completely, and you might have to line dry anyway!
