Is this suitable for a dining table--is it the correct height?

I use this at my dining table and it is very comfortable. I could be an inch or so higher for me, but I am 5'5" so a slightly taller person would be fine. That inch does not make it uncomfortable for me at all - just saying it might be even more comfortable if it were a tad higher..

What type of assembly is required?

You will need to attach the side arms, the back and the legs using the hardware provided. Essentially screwing everything together.
