Good all around home magazine
Good magazine. Would be nice if it was published more frequently.

It was time to renew and Amazon had a better price
I love remodeling shows and magazines. I like to see how things are done. My husband is handy so if I see it in a magazine, he can do it.

Good, but rehashes too much from TV show
I wish there was more original content. The magazine is geared towards more novices than the show. The show explains how to do stuff but the magazine is a bit lighter

Good resource for the new renovator
I started picking this up an issue at a time a couple of years ago and then decided to get a subscription. I like the update to TOH magazine and appreciate the regular articles they provide, from a new monthly project, to reviewing all the options for an item (like a cool doorbell or a rocking chair) going through reasonably priced and more expensive options. There are options for the budget conscious and those who can afford more. The easy explanations for projects has led me to grow confident in my own renovation projects.I do feel like some information is recycled from time-to-time, but that's true with any magazine out there whether it be fashion, running, home related, etc. There is a digital version available with the regular subscription that I can access through a Google app on my phone, which is nice to get more content. I do notice that once a the newest issue comes out, it seems like much of the information from the previous issue is available on the TOH website at that point. So I sometimes wonder what I'm paying for, but I do like getting to relax for an afternoon and flip through my magazine and get inspired. The colors, layout, photography, etc., are all really great, so it is an enjoyable magazine to peruse. I always find a few things to incorporate into my projects around the house.

First issue mostly about remodeling.
For me, too much remodeling too little woodworking but it is a well done and attractive magazine. Good info and images.

Makes a great gift...even for yourself
I ordered this magazine for my husband, but ever since the first issue arrived I've been hooked. (My sister picked up one of our copies while visiting and was instantly hooked too. So, I ordered her a subscription for Christmas.) I've been a fan of the show for some time, but have found the magazine much more useful as far as everyday application of knowledge gained. It's given me (oh, and my husband) lots of practical but brilliant ideas. I'm planning on putting in a butler's pantry in the kitchen this spring.I have to confess one of my favorite things about the magazine is the letter from the editor that sets-up the issue. He's just a witty, salt-of-the-earth kinda guy and I always laugh at his stories. The only downside to the magazine is that some of the houses in the feature articles have had 100's of thousands of dollars spent on their remodels. My husband and I are D.I.Y.ers, not people who could hire a contractor to add another 1000 sq. feet to our house. Even still, I do glean good ideas from those spreads of palatial remodels. One more thing, their website is incredibly helpful and easy to navigate, so check that out too!
