Hands down the best gilding adhesive and sealer!
Gilding Adhesive: In my experience, this product stands out on multiple levels: it’s super easy to work with (any bubbling smooths out effortlessly with a soft or foam brush), it dries quickly to a clear finish, the tack window is impressively long (up to 48 hours with no loss of adhesion), works well on a variety of surfaces (even wood), and being water-based makes application forgiving and cleanup simple. After trying several other adhesive products that either dried too fast or lost tack quickly, this one has become my go-to. Perfect results every time without the frustration. Highly recommend for gold leaf projects! It’s worth what you pay for. Gold Lead Sealer: When it comes to protecting my imitation gold leaf projects from tarnishing due to unwanted oxidation, the Barnabas Gold Leaf Sealer is the way to go. To save money, I usually use it as my first layer of application and then switch to a different (often less expensive) product for the remaining layers. Unlike any other gold leaf sealer I’ve used with imitation gold leaf, this one dries quickly and easily, and it isn’t significantly affected by the material’s hydrophobic nature. Just keep in mind that it sets up fast, so don’t take too long once you start applying it!

Best adhesive!
This adhesive is undoubtedly the best I’ve ever used. I appreciate the inclusion of gloves and a brush. I’ll definitely be purchasing it again. Thanks!

Will cover a lot of space
I was not paying attention to size for this one, so it was smaller then what I was expecting. But when laying down a layer for gold leafing you have to do it super thin anyway. So this glue worked perfectly and I bearly made a dent in its supply to cover a 2ft in diameter art project. Nice tip make it as thin as possible when putting a layer of glue down. I thought i had it thin enough but one of the sections showed my glue brush strokes through the gold leaf. Luckily I was working on a textured piece so it was not too out of place. But be careful when applying, make it thin as possible.

Fantastic adhesive, but container doesn't seal well.
I love this adhesive. It works very well on paper and paintings, which is all I have used it for (see someone else for use on ceramics). HOWEVER, if you buy this, I highly recommend transferring it to a different container. The seal on the lid isn't airtight, and if you aren't using it all the time, the glue inside will dry. The whole container won't dry out, but the inevitable bit of glue that seeps from the lid to the gap between the container and lid will dry. It becomes a nightmare to open, and I finally had to break open my last jar with a knife. Sadly, that wasted half my container. I am off to hunt down a better container before I purchase a new jar of gilding adhesive. If you can get a small, completely airtight container, do so *before* you open the adhesive up, or you may find yourself struggling to open it a second time.

Hopefully this will keep it looking nice for a long time
This is a great sealant for applying gold adhesive apply at 24 to 48 hours after you apply them and then wait another 24 to 48 hours before you use a clearcoat over your project. I did a project on painted wood so it took me a few days to complete it.

Great gilding size
Worked perfectly and quickly! Misplaced my last jar from a name brand and needed one in a pinch, chose this off of price and shipping speed. Worked great, a little goes a long way, will likely not need another jar for quite some time.

Good adhesive
This works well but my problem was the difficulty in removing the lid upon receiving item. I would purchase again because it's a great value for the amount of product you get, adhesive holds well and good durability. It doesn't take much product so you have enough for many projects. Just be ready to deal with a glued lid that is hard to remove.

Works great!
As someone new to painting/refinishing furniture, I have so much yet to learn. I've watched hrs upon hrs of different YouTube tutorials and it's a real crap shoot. You either get really solid advice from someone who really knows what they are doing or you get an epic fail (5 min crafts, I'm talking to you! LOL Long story short, I wanted to do gold gilding on a piece of furniture but I didn't have any gilding adhesive. NO PROBLEM, or so I thought. I'll just use another adhesive, one that I've had past experiences with and it worked well for the tasks at hand. It worked all right. Having never gilded anything before I had nothing to compare it to. Fast fwd a few weeks, I needed some more adhesive so I ordered the Barnabas brand as I'd previously ordered their gilding sheets (which by the way were Fab!) I initially thought that the 30-minute wait time was going to take forever. However, I'm in an arid climate and it did not take 30 mins to go clear and tacky. This made me happy, however, much more than the short dry time was how well, EVENLY, and SMOOTHLY the Barnabas adhesive bonded to the gilding sheets. It was like NIGHT and DAY! I would never have thought that an adhesive would/could make that much difference but it did. Gilding is a beautiful, messy technique that can't be replicated. As a novice, I found it to be a painstakingly tedious process but the end results are well worth it. Knowing what I know now, I would NEVER use another adhesive on such a large piece. It might have worked for something really small but if you're going to do a lot of gilding (especially over uneven surfaces) save yourself some hassle and invest in a product that's made for it. One lesson down....

Me gustaron mucho
