Looks like a great wee thing if you want a good value headphone amplifier
I bought this for my (very deaf) mother who uses headphones to listen to TV. There was not enough gain for her any longer using the TV headphone socket alone. She asked me "do headphones get quieter as they get old?" "No, the users get deafer" She now has the volume of her TV at about a third of the volume she was using before, so a substantial amount of gain has been made using this device. Obviously, quality of signal wise, one should not expect too much from this amplifier, but I thought the sound using my own quality headphones was more than acceptable for watching tv, and also fair for music, although could not begin to compare with my own Chord Hugo, which costs 70 times as much. I also listened when the device was charging and could not hear any of the crackling noises that some others had complained about. I think the build quality of the device and the enclosed cables look very good, but after only a few weeks' use I cannot comment about the long-term reliability.Overall, for such a cheap unit, I can only say that it looks like fantastic value for money and no-one should hesitate to buy.For anyone who wants a bit more gain using their phone when out and about for listening the item is no bother to carry about and is small and discreet. Light, but also reassuringly not too light, if you see what I mean. I do not often listen to music "on the go" myself, preferring to listen at home to high fidelity sound, but do occasionally use my phone and earphones. If I needed a bit more gain to the signal I would not hesitate to buy one for myself, to save my Hugo from being bashed about and possibly damaged.

Great little gadget
Bought this as my meta quest 3 headphones output couldn't drive my sennheiser headphones properly - no bass. Added this gadget in between and the bass is back! I didn't even need to activate the bass boost function though I imagine it would help on cheaper headphones. It's also tiny and light weight. Ran for a couple of hours and no sign of running out of charge.

Small and reliable, great also as volume attenuator
This is a great item for the price, it's useful not only to get good quality audio and more volume from a quiet source, but also to act as volume attenuator with louder sources (for example I use it from a too loud line signal to the audio input of my camera, to reduce gain and hiss). And it's really small, light and well built, good battery life.No cons till now, maybe just the knob a bit tough and the hum noise only if connected to power supply (but it's normal and declared by the manufacturer), it's ultra quiet when powered by battery.

Enhanced listening experience
Felt duty bound to do a quick ‘first impressions’ on the Neotech NTK059 which arrived in usual lighting fast time from Amazon. First off is the chunky feel of the unit with its satin black aluminium casing, it really looks and feels the business. It came with a charge but decided to top it up with the cable supplied. No problem here with the plug and socket all fitting snugly.I used the short 3.5m lead supplied to connect the aux socket to my iPhone and my Scarlett Studio HP60s headphones to the input on the the NTK059. I had already familiarised myself with the sound of a ‘Dooby Brothers’ album recently downloaded from iTunes for reference. Switching on the unit I was pleasantly surprised with the difference the unit made. Everything just sounded “better”. A nice crisp sound and definitely had the impression of an enhanced stereo separation with the level set about midway, disappointing for Spinal Tap fans, this only goes up to 9!.I fiddled with the eq settings on the phone finding ‘Flat’ to give best results for my ears.I have noticed a little interference but that could be coming from the phone itself or lighting circuits. All in all I can see this coming in quite handy and will try it in a variety of scenarios including on stage in ear monitoring where I reckon it could excel being so light and compact.I have no reservations in recommending this unit, after all Amazon are so good with their returns policy what’s to lose? Many reviewers complain about ill fitting and badly made components, well send it back and get another I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Portable Power
I purchased this as a headphone amp to be able to listen to music using the Audio Technica Sound burger turntable with wired headphones. AT Sound Burger only offers line out volume jack. This works well. It is a bit bass heavy even without the bass boost on! Plenty of volume to drive standard headphones. May struggle with higher end headphones, but for general listening it is great. It warns in the instructions to not use it while charging to avoid electrical interference- which is fair enough. Recommended product.

20% max sound improvement, so worth it for big cans. Battery pretty good.
Bit small for my big fingers! And no, you can't use it while it's charging.

Amazing bit of kit
Just lately I've found myself watching movies, on blu ray/DVD, using my pc monitor as the missus monopolises the TV to watch her programs.Until now I've found the sound to be lacking something as I plug my headphones into the monitor and not the speakers so, after a bit of research, opted to buy this device rather than a set of speakers that would only be used to plug my headphones into. This little bit of kit is amazing. It's plugged into the monitor and I plug my headphones into it, switch it on and - voila - superb sound. The bass is there where it wasn't when headphones were plugged into the monitor directly but, with this, wow it is impressive quality.I'm no audiophile but I could instantly hear the difference in sound quality.
