Family movie
This is a wonderful movie that shows how people can be prejudiced against others just because of their race or habits. The little boy in the movie just sees a nice man that is very brave while other people see him as a drunk.

I enjoyed this movie and the simple life that was lived by the people at that time. The Native American character, Fish Hawk, was an excellent actor.

Man on a mission
Last member of a lost tribe, Fish Hawk is a part-time professional hunter and full-time town drunk. He learns the hard way that hunting dangerous game with a hangover is not recommended! Redemption is at hand as he befriends a young boy on a ranch, whom he teaches to hunt and shoot his .22 rifle.Fish Hawk's rifle is a late '90's big bore Martini-Henry, with which he makes a one shot kill on a cattle-killing rogue grizzly. Strangely, the bear carried a large boar's tusk, jammed in its jaw from an earlier confrontation, forcing it to kill livestock to survive. The turning point occurs when his other young friend, a mentally challenged boy from town, is brutally slain by the same rampaging wild boar. It had gone berserk after its fight with the grizzly, having suffered a debilitating injury, and killed livestock and the boy out of pure rage.Fish Hawk had gone off alcohol and was about to leave the territory in search of his lost tribe, The Osage. He delayed when offered a large cash reward, with which he bought the most expensive coffin available, for his young friend's burial. He caught up with the boar as it was attempting to knock his other young friend out of a sapling. His shot blinded and completely disoriented the boar, leaving it helpless and almost docile. With winter coming on, he felt it would die on its own and the boy agreed. Then Fish Hawk and the boy parted ways, never to see each other again.
