Smooth ratcheting and good grips.
I admit I had my doubts about these when I saw the ad. The pictures don't do them justice. To me, they looked like real cheap plastic in the pictures.I ordered another brand that was all shiny silver metal. Can't go wrong with metal right? Well, I was seeing tons of posts coming up for that other metal brand that basically said they were crap and would have to be re machined to fix. I have no ability or tools to do that so I canceled that order and tried these. I must say, I'm very pleasantly surprised! These are not cheap plastic at all. Well the button to switch from tighten to loosen looks like plastic. But all the working parts are metal. Based on the ratcheting sound they make, the gears also sound like metal. As advertised you get 3 sizes of square mounts for tools. The larger ones fit my auto parts and will be used there. The 1/4 size I will use with drivers to remove and reinstall nozzles from 3D printers. It will allow me to do so without having to raise the gantry all the way up to fit tools under. The ratcheting mechanisms on all 3 are quite nice and smooth but hold in place till bolts or screws are mostly loose. The button is to rotate to select tighten or loosen and if you press it, it serves as an eject for the tool tip too.The grips are quite nice. I can't tell if they are rubber or TPU plastic. But in any case, they provide just enough give to allow you to hold on tightly while being sturdy enough to solidly turn a bolt. Now one thing I might mention. If you have a bolt or screw that's badly Frozen in place, the rubbery grip probably won't provide enough torque to free it. So you might still need a socket wrench to torque stuck bolts then use these to further remove them.I can see these are going to be marvelous for my car as it has lots of spots a socket wrench just won't fit and turn well. These should fit as they are only about 1 to 1.25 inches deep without a tool tip. I'm thinking I might order a couple of these as gifts for friends as they are quite sturdy and you won't have to worry about giving a gift your friend doesn't want or have a use for.I'm very happy with this purchase. Well worth the money!

a handy thing to have in your tool box for those rare occasions when you really need them.
these aren't something you'll use all the time, but they're super handy to have when you run into those situations where you need to remove a bolt in a really tight spot. for instance i used one recently where i broke the bolt free with a traditional ratchet, but given it was in a tight cramped space i had about exactly -1 degree of swing arch on the ratchet. so i was able to get one of these down into the cramped space and back the bolt out the rest of the way with easy.

Ratcheting action is smooth and they're very good for confined spaces
Ratcheting action is smooth and they're very good for confined spaces. Personally, the 1/4" one I find very useful for replacing TPMS kits when they need those Torx screws unscrewed, as it saves time over a conventional 1/4" ratchet, and the 1/2" drive is convenient for taking off and putting on those screw-tight hubcaps with the faux-lugnuts. The button to release the sockets works well for that but there's not much grip to twist it to change the ratcheting direction; you pretty much have to be pressing the ratchet into something already. I'll probably just get some grip tape and it'l be all great. The grip on the thumbwheel part, however, is just right and moving the ratchet is easy.Do not expect to be breaking tight bolts with these unless you have the hand/tendon strength of Zeus. These are for low/mid-torque-needed applications and do very well at that.

Best buy for set with quick release and Moderate torque (1/4) Heavy duty high torque (3/8, ½). Made in China.
The key features to look for in any device like this are: Ratchet or non-ratchet selection, number of teeth in ratchet, Force required to operate ratchet, Diameter of finger driver, contour of finger wheel, texture of finger wheel, pliability of finger wheel (pliability finish), whether a dual driver is needed, quick release function, and resistance to automotive contaminants. The weight to be applied to these factors depends on the individual and the use intended. For this device, the major factors are quick release, pliability of the finger wheel, comfort of the finger wheel, smoothness of ratchet, and multiple drives.Purchase of the Wilmar W1716 set assumes that you already own or have access to sockets, adapters, extensions, screwdriver bits and “spinners”.The Wilmar W1716 is a set of three thumbwheel ratchets in 1/4-inch drive (1/4 Green), 3/8-inch drive (3/8 Red) and ½-inch drive (1/2 Blue) and are moderately heavy in weight and capable of light duty low torque use (1/4) and for heavy duty high torque use (3/8 and ½).The Wilmar W1716 is a chrome vanadium steel device with black oxide coating on the drive parts. The finger wheel grip area (3/8 Red, 1/2 Blue, 1/4 Green) is flexible and comfortable. The finger wheel is 1.68-inches in diameter (1/4 Green) and 1.88-inches in diameter (3/8 Red, 1/2 Blue) max. The grip area is non-slip. The finger wheel is 0.422-inches thick (1/4 Green), and 0.575-inches thick (3/8 Red, 1/2 Blue) in the grip area. The finger ratchet has 43 teeth (8.4 degree increment) (1/4 Green) and 72 teeth (5 degree increment) (3/8 Red, 1/2 Blue). The socket square drive portion has the typical ratchet drive spring loaded ball to retain the socket under use with quick release feature. The socket is securely in place until the release is pushed.A hard plastic black button controls the ratchet direction by rotation and releases the ratchet by pushing it in.There is no non-ratchet setting on this device (no center off). You will need an adaptor to use screwdriver bits with the Wilmar W1716. NAPA has good low cost adaptors. The Cal-Van Master finger bit driver set Part No 100 also has adaptors. With my right hand and with some discomfort I can apply 25 inch-pounds torque (1/4 Green), and 45 inch-pounds torque (3/8 Red, 1/2 Blue) with these devices using a KD tools 2955 torque wrench with a ¼ inch drive as a measuring tool. The ratchet action is smooth and effortless on all three but does require some resistance and therefore the use of these devices with a “spinner” is needed to hold the drive stationary while ratcheting. The Cal-Van 104-3 is a good spinner choice for ¼ and 3/8. With a converter you can use the Cal-Van 3/8 on ½ inch. Also See Williams S70 for ½. Armstrong also makes a ½ spinner.I cannot comment on the ability of the plastic parts on this device to withstand oil, grease, gasoline, brake fluid etc. If you have a hostile environment you may want to consider an all metal construction such as the SK 49270 which does not have a quick release feature or flexible grip area. The same Wilmar product sold by Performance Tool is also marketed by JEGS. The Wilmar products are also available individually.

Surprisingly great product
I have been looking for a set for a while. I purchased a set from Harbor Freight and as as I took them out, they were broke would not spin and locking up. I was hesitant to purchasing this set. However, when I received them I was surprised at the quality and the design. The spinning handle is made of rubber, so you get a good grip. easy to operate. Hope this helps.

Product as indicated.
This nifty little tool sure feels tough in your hands, the textured rubbery blue material sure increases grip, and with a turn of a small dial, it changes the direction of the tool. ain't too heavy too.5/5 stars.
