Lifesaver
I can't speak to the MIDI end of this device's functionality, but as for tap/expression/cv control, it's brutally simple and efficient. The ability to tap tempo from a central location and sync up my various pedals would have been amazing on its own, but to be able to save a setlist's worth of tempos, and with room to spare, and then quickly and easily move through them leaving each song perfectly synced is just magical. I didn't anticipate the way it encourages you not to drift off tempo by being so very excellent at its job. And if you do decide to play that tune slower today, a few taps and everything is right in line. Fabulous. There is a certain level of inherent complexity introduced by the need to support a wide variety of different devices with their varying methods of control, and you will likely need to dig into this for at least one of your devices. However, the supplied instructions are straightforward and with such a vast array of devices supported it's very likely that yours will all work. However it's a good idea to look on the manufacturer's website, where many compatible devices are listed and classified into groups. Go take a look. It's reasonably likely that you'll need a specific cable to make everything work(in many cases, but not all, a TRS 1/4" patch cable) so do a little legwork so you can have it on hand rather than write a review that makes it clear you couldn't be bothered to do 2 minutes of research on a piece of gear before you bought it. This thing has simplified my setup in a way I always wished for and ensures I spend more time listening and playing rather than babysitting my rig. Seems well built, but the years will tell. If it crashes and burns, I'll update this review. For the moment, it's all love.
