I’ve used the LightingWill HDMI 2.0 Sync Box LED TV Backlight Strip Kit for a good amount of time now, and it is just always one of those upgrades that always surprises me after I sit down to watch something. I got it because I wanted a bit of color behind my TV and also something to react to what was showing. This kit is performing the function very well and it has been making my living room more comfortable and enjoyable. Not until I was able to test it with the TV, crawling behind this thing, trying to hold everything at once, did I leave any mistakes on my notes, but it turned out all was great. Installation was easy enough. I liked the strip length enough for my 55 inch TV and adhesive adhesion. I had to lift one corner and put it back because I put it a little crooked just to make sure the box stood still, which just held up ok once I did that. The LEDs seem bright and spacing is even. The sync box is small and attaches comfortably to your TV stand without occupying too much space. I connected everything and copied the steps to the screen and it seamlessly popped into place without any confusion. It's the screen sync feature that I like best. When I watch a movie or play a video game, the colors behind the TV complement the events on the screen and they seem bigger. I attempted it with a couple of games and the lighting responded fast and fluid. I also tried it off with animated shows and the colors were bright without giving it too much punch. It gives the place a nice glow, and immerses the TV even more. I worked well on the HDMI passthrough. I paired it with my streaming box and my console and it brought out a clear photo at 4K at 60Hz. I didn’t see flicker or delay. The sync box got through it all without problems. I also like that it works with voice assistants. I connected it to my smart home setup and I can switch on/off the lights with a simple voice command. I do not use it all the time, but it is a good deal to have when my hands are full. Even the LED strip feels well made. The colors are bold and the transitions seamless. I have tried different modes such as music mode and static colors which worked fine, just fine. Instead of having one color on the entire strip, the RGB IC feature allows the strip to display more than one color at once and for a different color, making the effects appear even more dynamic. I tried it out at a small gathering, and people kept asking, how are those lights, how they react to the screen? The strip was long enough for my TV and still had a little extra to wrap around the corners. Even as it warmed up, the adhesive held its position. Also, I like that the strip bends well without it breaking. It was a bit slow when the cable management was in place but after it all was in place it seemed clean and organized. I used it with some ambient scenes when the TV was off too. The soft glow behind the TV gives a comfortable feel of room but not too bright. I used a warm color in the evening and it painted the room nicely. The app buttons are basic but I was at ease switching between modes or changing the brightness to match. I noticed that during the longer viewing session lights helped the room feel a little warmer. The glow from behind the TV takes away the contrast between the screen and the wall, making movies less bright when watching them in the dark. I had no expectations but it’s been nice to have for no other reason. This lighting kit has just been great overall to have on my TV array. Bright and responsive and user-friendly. The screen sync also makes the movies/games feel more exciting and even the LED strip looks awesome when the TV is turned off. You need something to bring a bit of color and atmosphere to your TV unit and this kit has done very well for me.

This product only works with a connected gaming console or something like an apple tv. That is not listed anywhere in the item description. Another issue is getting your tv to recognize your gaming console while its connected by hdmi to the sync box. My tv didnt even recognize the console was on. Lights are bright and comes with other features but I was primarily looking to use the sync functionality while watching movies etc. Does not work as advertised. I have a newer Samsung tv just for reference.

Parts of the light strip did not work. Had to return.

Maybe a little obscure until you've had a chance to experience it. Mounts behind the TV/ monitor and virtually expands the screen by outwards projection of the onscreen colors. Adds a nice special effect and certainly not for everyone. Perhaps check out one in person or look up a video or two online before ordering ? Special effect sort of thing, more reminiscent of disco or hippy days? Sellers photos don't really show too well what this is capable of. Ad copy is also somewhat lacking and could benefit from a professional rewrite. When I think of a backlight my first thought is of something built in, this is externally mounted. Quality construction and seems to meet specs after a quick bench test. FIVE STARS

I unboxed this LED kit intended for the back of a TV, and the first thing I noticed is just how much equipment is included. It is a very complete set, but it can feel a bit daunting when you first see all the components. Love the colors and the functionality once completed, it looks aesthetically pleasing and adds a fun vibe to the room. Unboxing Experience: The box contains several spools of LED strips, power adapters, and a variety of connection wires. Because it's designed to go around the perimeter of a TV, there are many individual parts to manage. For someone looking for a quick "plug and play" setup, the amount of hardware might feel daunting. It definitely looks like a project that will require some careful planning and time to install correctly. Component Quality: Everything appears to be well-organized and packaged. The kit includes the necessary adapters and controllers to get everything running. The strips themselves seem standard, and having the specific connectors for a TV setup is a plus, even if it adds to the initial complexity of the unboxing.
