I ordered this HZEL 320PCS Bullet Wire Connectors Kit, 3.9mm 3.5mm Male and Female Bullet Terminal Connectors with Insulation Sleeve, Heat Shrink Electric Butt Terminals, Universal for SUV RV Truck to use for making tuned radials for a vertical antenna. I enjoy taking part in Parks on the Air. POTA is when an amateur radio operator takes a radio, antenna, and battery into a state or national park and tries to make as many contacts as possible. Because I often hike in a park location, I typically use a telescoping whip antenna. To get the best results from a vertical antenna, tuned elevated radials are required. I've constructed a set of radials that can be adjusted for the 10 meter, 15 meter, or 20 meter band. Different sections are connected to one another using bullet connectors. I ordered these connectors to build my radials. They accept the 18 gauge wire I am using, crimp easily, and can be soldered on. They are working well for my application.

These connectors were selected because they were brass and already had preformed shrink tubing. Brass has good conductivity and rigidity in electrical connections. I learned something from this kit, namely the existence of double female bullet connectors. I had assumed they were female spade connectors. There is a picture of one with two bullet connectors inserted. You will need to slide all the double female preformed heat shrinks onto your wires before crimping the connectors, as the uncrimped connector will not slide into the heat shrink uncrimped. The connectors seemed to be quality connectors. The case is acceptable but flimsy with respect to the plastic thickness and minimal latch. There is a pegboard tab, which is nice, as my garage uses pegboard for storage. Add-on uses: With a snapped wire, these connectors might have enough length to be used as an emergency jumper. In prototyping models, these connectors offer modularity for different-sized batteries or accessories. For inexpensive jewelry, they could be used as clasps. Opinion: These connectors offer convenience, modularity, and problem-solving abilities. They seem strong, and the material is better than other types of connectors.
