Shock DoctorNano Double Mouthguard for Kids and Adults

This really is a great mouth guard / gum shield. I use it for Muay Thai and with the gel inserts I got an almost custom made fit. It's easy to breath through and if I open my mouth it stays extremely well secured on my top teeth. I really can't fault it at all.

I use this for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and grappling and it works great. Since getting it I've taken a few knees and elbows to the face and have not been cut. My one complaint is that this is certainly a low profile top and bottom jaw supporting gum shield! So low profile that initially I found it quite hard to breath because of the very small airway. I'm comparing this to the old Shock Doctor Double gum shield that had more of a gap between the top and bottom teeth. That old model was thicker (so your mouth is more "open") but allowed a lot more air to pass through. For grappling I preferred the old model but for striking it's probably better to have a lower profile? If you do buy it then when moulding remember to press it into the upper jaw first before biting down. This prevents you from ending up with the lower jaw too far forwards and having to remould.

I took a very hard punch to the face mainly hitting the nose and upper teeth, almost had a broken nose- teeth were a bit sore but nothing broke so I assume it did the job!!Only gripe is it can be hard to breathe with when first used, but get used to it very quick.

This is protective of your teeth, but a bit bulky and takes some getting used to.Ate a hard right hook in 7oz mma gloves and busted the inside of my cheek against the gun shield, it was a good short don’t get wrong but I don’t think it would have happened on a less bulky gum shield

Fitting is very bad, loose around the gums and doesn't sit well in your mouth. This leads to the feeling that its constantly tipping away from you teeth. Using this for boxing I found it completely ineffectual, took a shot to the nose and I could feel in my front teeth and the shield was leading forward and the punch roll completely over the guard. I would imagine the looseness would also be annoying if you where playing fast moving contact sports such as rugby. Avoid this completely

Very good stuff, It fits perfectly, worked the first time. :D do as the instructions say and it will be fine. Very resistant as well. Worth the money, works when you have retainers!!!

This gumshield does not fit well at all. It is too thick so you cannot effectively speak while it is in your mouth. This also makes it harder to breathe aswell. It overhangs your bottom teeth so it does not fit comfortably when you try to bite down on it, and it does not feel as well made as other, older Shock Doctor products I have used in the past.

Die Anleitung zum "Weichkochen" ist sehr verständlich. Der Mundschutz konnte richtig leicht angepasst werden und sitzt super.

Ich hatte zuerst Bedenken, ob die Anpassung so einfach geht, wie gehofft.Als der Mundschutz geliefert wurde, erst einmal alles auf englisch gelesen (ein anderer Rezensent hat es schon vorzüglich auf deutsch beschrieben, was mir sehr hilfreich war).Aber alle Bedenken waren unnötig.Der Mundschutz ist stabil und wird schnell geliefert. Wie auf den Produktbildern zu sehen ist im oberen Bereich ein Gelstreifen, der an den Rändern dicker ist. Im unteren Bereich sind nur drei kleine Gelkammern, nicht der Rede wert.Den Mundschutz 60 Sekunden in kochendes Wasser, dann mit einem Löffel o. ä. herausfischen, kurz mit kaltem Wasser abbrausen (2-3 Sekunden). Danach möglichst mittig positionieren und auf die obere Zahnreihe drücken (die Einkerbung am Mundschutz oben hilft bei der Positionierung vor dem Spiegel). Von vorne mit dem Anpressen beginnen und dann an die restlichen Zähne hinten andrücken. Dann von unten her zubeißen und den Mundschutz gut 30 Sekunden im Mund lassen, danach entnehmen, gut abspülen. Jetzt sollte man einen perfekt für einen angepassten Mundschutz sein eigen nennen. Nochmal einsetzen, testen. Falls man mit dem Ergebnis nicht zufrieden ist, kann man den Prozess wiederholen und korrigieren.Der Mundschutz sitzt durch die Anpassung ergo sehr gut, atmen ist auch wirklich gut möglich durch die Luftschlitze. Der Anpassungsprozess war einfacher, als erwartet und ich bin von der Qualität sehr angetan.Würde ich wieder kaufen, denn eine Zahnarztrechnung ist um einiges teurer als dieser Mundschutz.
