Aquarium Biochemical Cotton Filter Foam Fish Tank Sponge 50x50x2cm

The piece of foam I received was NOT reticulated foam, shipped from China and not suitable for aquarium use. More like common furniture/packaging foam. It was also not the thickness stated in the listing. Buyer beware!

The product seems fair and had no odor and has good size pores to use as a pre filter. However, the item they sent is not 2.5 cm thick as their ad states, it is only 1.8 cm thick and is not the correct thickness to fill my filter grid slot so it can come out to easily and just float around in the tank. The pad is useless if it is not the correct thickness as advertised. The seller will not respond now.

I cut a piece to use for my aquarium filter. However, rinsing it, I noticed black specks from the black sponge kept coming out of the sponge despite soaking and rinsing for several days/weeks. This will pollute the tank water. I could not use the product.

Ships from China, so it takes some time to get here. But for your patience, it's a really nicely thick bit of foam and very large too. With three filters currently running it'll take me at least a year or more to run out of it. Very sturdy, so it seems like it'll take the abuse I'm going to give it. But also lets the water through very well.I used it to replace the filter on an Quietflow instead of buying a new filter. (Along with some bio rings) and in some Aquaclear HoBs.

It's not 2.5cm (0.98in) but 2cm (0.79in) thick also the delivery is slow.With that said, it was very cheap (~$3 at time of purchase, free shipping), it's a wonderful material to build your own filter material and at this size it should last a long time.

Excellent sponge. I use it as replacement in my aquarium filter. Costs fraction of the price of the manufacturer recommended cartridge. It can be hit to desired size. Excellent medium to use as mechanical filtration and as a colonization medium for beneficial bacteria.

This filter foam is great! I'm using one square in my prefilter around my pump and another in my filter box. Because it is my first form of filtration it gets dirty fast and cleaned often. It is holding up really well and gets a lot of debris out of the water. I couldn't be happier with it.

Be aware it is shipped from china. It will not come in a week time. It takes longer. I installed the product and it does a good job. I bend it in half then rolled it and installed in my sump tank...so far works great...

It's alright. It's not that thick and very smooshie. I've gotten better filter foam before. And it is most definitely NOT cotton. LOL

It's bio-foam! Will do the job. Slow delivery.

Works well as a filter material for most portable oxygen concentrators.

Bio filter for fish tanks. Excellent.

This is great cut to fit foam for my canister filters. It's about an inch thick and a pretty fine density. I save a ton of money by making my own filter media.

not as thick as I thought it would be and came folded up in a bag so there are fold marks all in it... not impressed.
