A Compelling Read! โThe Girl Who Defies Gravityโ by author Elena Zotova delivers a fascinating profile of the current world bronze medalist, who became the first female skater to land the quad lutz, quad flip and quad toe loop. And that is because no other words can describe Sasha better - the girl who changed the world of figure skating forever. And us as well. Iโd really like this book to be read not only by Sashaโs fans but by as many boys and girls as possible, because Sashaโs example proves that if you really want to, you can achieve anything. Lovely book!
Lovely book about one of the most talented skaters of all time :) The translation from Russian to English can be a bit jarring but it didnโt stop me from really enjoying the book. Iโd definitely recommend this for skating fans.

The making of a legend
This book grabs from the first page. Not only due to the fabulous insight on figure skating and Sasha (who is practically a superhero on ice), but because it also captures the drive, determination, and humanity in the journey. We learn of Sasha from the begining, from learning to walk, to bikes, to roller skates, and then, her first steps on the ice. We watch her grow as a young girl and then into a young woman, following dreams, defying the odds, and always reaching to do better, do more, and she does. She sets records despite adversity and personal challenges. She re-writes assumptions about female's capabilities on the ice, and she astounds with her smile, her down to earth attitude, and her skill and grace. If ever there was someone to motivate you in life, on or off the ice, Alexandra Trusova proves that mighty things can come in small packages. The book is written with a personal tone that makes you feel like you are right there, talking to Sasha, her mother, her coach, and we get details so many writers tend to leave out when writing biographies. Like the costumes! Which was one of my favorite chapters :)I will be following Sasha through her impressive career and look forward to seeing her in the Olympics!A wonderful book full of heart and passion, completely engaging.

The Girl that changed Women's Figure Skating.
Great read for skating fans. Been a fan of Alexandra since her first junior competition. The Russian Rocket. Watching her you can see how much she truly loves to skate. The book offers points of view from Sasha and her parents. How they always supported her and from an early age and knew that if Sasha made up her mind up, there was no changing it. Her goal for 2022 was 5 quads and the Gold medal. This is a prequel to to the Olympics. Can't wait for the next book.
