Review: Multi Angle Miter Shear with imperfect cuts and insufficient safety. - I've run into a few problems with this set of miter shears right out of the box, so to speak. The safety doesn't keep the blade closed all of the way. I tried adjusting the small screw to make it longer in the hopes it would close the blade all of the way when engaged, but that just made it crooked and it would pop out above the blade housing, leaving them completely open. As it is, there is a rather large gap when the safety is engaged which is large enough to get a fingertip into and get a nasty surprise if I picked it up wrong. The second issue is that the blade isn't held perfectly steady so, despite adjusting it to be completely flat against the plate when closed, as soon as I went to cut something, the blade shifted and can't cut all of the way through. It kind of needs to be able to do that. When it can't cut all the way through, it ends up shredding part of the wood instead. Other than that the shears seem sturdy and have sufficient strength and leverage to cut through a wooden dowel. The angle selector holds position very well, too.
