Sabian has hit the jackpot with these hihats. The low price and sound quality will leave you wondering why you pay upward of £250 for some AAX cymbals. They may not have the fullest of tonal spectrums compared to other Sabian b20 lines but put these in the context of music and you won't even notice. The x-celerator hats have a clearly defined bright and cutting sound when pedaled. Closed tight these cymbals have a great clear sound all the way to a nice rocking slush when half-open. These are possibly my favorite cymbals in the XSR range.

These Hi-hat cymbals are amazing . They sound incredible compared to my old set of B8's. The scalloping on the lower half lets the air out quicker, and reduces the need to angle the lower cymbal with the stand set screw. They sound as good, if not better than a very high end set I had and foolishly got rid of years ago. (Drumming since 1964)

Boy, I really love these Hi Hats. I got a free shabby drum kit from a friend and I have been slowly upgrading all the pieces. After extensive research I really wanted to take plunge and buy hand hammered cymbals to replace my cheap Mienl starter kit, but balked at the prospect of cymbals starting at $350. I read lots of reviews of people saying the XSR line was as close as you can get to handmade sound without the price tag; I have to say I agree. The way these hats carry the sound and sizzle when partially open is simply amazing. The stick response is also fantastic.

They're simply amazing, so bright and controlled

These have great definition but not much “warmth”. They’re pretty bright and would cut through nicely in a louder live setting. They just didn’t have enough depth if you know what I mean. They’re beautiful cymbals and the quality is there, as I’m sure is the durability, just not the sound I was hoping/looking for. I paired this bottom with a dream bliss top and WOW! It’s now the best of both worlds. The XSR is about 1/8” larger than the bliss and, because I play my hats hi (pun intended), they chew through sticks. I bought these at a huge discount (I’m thinking they were demos or something) and they were well worth it. I wouldn’t call these beginner cymbals by any means. They will hold their own against any B20s but they need to be in the right setting. These are comparable, in my ears, to PST 7/8s if that helps. Bright.
