This is my fourth camera from this brand, and it keeps getting better. Having three cameras covering the front, inside, and rear gives complete peace of mind. The video is super clear, making it easy to read license plates. The hands-free voice control is a huge bonus—I can protect clips or adjust settings without taking my eyes off the road. Setup was painless, and app downloads are easy. It’s reliable, packed with features, and well worth the money.

I’m extremely impressed with the Vantrue N4S 2.7K 3-Channel Dash Cam. The three-camera setup is one of my favorite features because it provides excellent coverage of the front, rear, and inside of the vehicle. It gives me much greater peace of mind knowing that there is comprehensive video coverage from multiple angles. The 2.7K front camera produces very clear and detailed footage, and the video quality is excellent both during the day and at night. The rear camera adds great additional coverage, while the interior camera is a fantastic feature for monitoring the inside of the vehicle. The overall build quality feels premium and durable, and the camera has a clean, professional design. Installation was straightforward, and once everything was set up, the camera worked seamlessly. I also really like the parking mode and GPS functionality, which add even more value and protection. The recording starts automatically, and the system is easy to operate. Being able to review footage and have important driving events recorded gives me a lot of confidence on the road. I’ve been using the Vantrue N4S for a bit now, and honestly, it’s been awesome. The video quality is super clear on all three cameras, day or night, and I love knowing everything around my car is being recorded. The night vision is way better than I expected, and the PlatePix feature actually does make license plates easier to read. Setup was pretty simple, and the magnetic mount is super handy. The app is fast, the WiFi transfer is quick, and the whole thing just works without me having to mess with it. It gives me a lot of peace of mind whether I’m driving or parked. First this is the only brand of Dash Cam I have ever bought, the reason being that they are the top choice for rideshare driver and since then it have become the gold standard of dashcam. Why? Their customer service is amazing, their product is top of the line, and every piece just work together very nicely and I never had any issues using them. Before this N4S I was using their E360 dashcam which is nice and innovating at the time, however I still enjoy the horizontal screen on dashcam more, this is where the N4S comes in as an upgrade from my previous N4 Pro which is already great. The N4S is an upgrade of the N4 pro in all aspect, higher resolution and support higher memory card storage. Since I have the 12v hardwire already setup in my car, all I had to do is redo the wire a little and easy to mount the new dash cam to the windshield. The dash cam also come with a rear camera which also have very good resolution. I love that the connection for the dash cam itself have GPS built in, the connectivity of the dash cam itself is very simple and it use usb-c connection, as far as power goes, with the 12v hardwire I never have to worry about using the cigarette port because I like my wire hidden, and whenever i start the car it comes right on and when its off it will detect motion impact. I love that the resolution is very clear on 3 channel, this is the most important in terms of dash cam when you need to have clear details if something happen to the car. The dash cam comes with everything you need in the box for setup, its great value for money you can get on dash cam. The quality of the camera is solid, very nice built, and when I power on the first time it already have the latest firmware installed. There are many other dash cam out there, but I believe this N4S 3 Channel Dash Cam is great for everyone, it have all the features you need for a dash cam. Replaced my original Vantrue dash cam with the N4S 3 channel. Unfortunately, the performance from the N4S falls short in two areas for me. The first is overheating and shutting down in mild spring weather. Temperatures around 60 to 75 degrees fahrenheit. The resolution settings are at 1440+1080+1440, which is middle of the road for what is offered. I’ve tried the lowest resolution setting and the results are the same. The screen shows an orange box stating that the dash cam is too hot and will not work until it reaches a safe operating temperature. When the dash cam overheats, happens almost everyday, it will not reach a safe temperature and is pretty much useless until I get home and park inside my garage. With the AC on max, recording on a low resolution setting, and trying to use only the front and rear cams, I get the same result… overheating. I’ve also tried just running the dash cam alone and unplugging the rear cams and it still overheats. All cables are from Vantrue and I’ve tried Anker usb-c cables but again the result is overheating. The second issue is the type of micro sd you have to use. I’ve only had luck with a sandisk express. I’ve tried several memory cards with near identical write and read speeds to the sandisk but those cards are too slow. Regardless of the resolution, outside temps, and only using front and rear cams, I see a prompt that says card is too slow. You’ll most likely have to upgrade your micro sd card so account for that in the total price for this dashcam. $209 for the N4S and $90 for the sandisk express micro sd just to have an overheating or card issue. Sorry, only a one star rating because I expected another great dash cam from Vantrue. Not sure what happened with the N4S but it looks like these are known issues with no real solutions. I should’ve researched a bit more instead of just trusting Vantrue. They missed the mark and a lot of wasted time for me trying to make this dash cam work.

The N4S actually delivers impressive overall video quality, especially in low-light/nighttime conditions. The exposure handling and sharpness for general surroundings, traffic scenes, and potential impact evidence are solid. ​However, I originally bought this expecting their "PlatePix" marketing to reliably capture moving license plates. In real-world driving—especially in areas like Puerto Rico where plates are only on the rear of vehicles and traffic is constantly moving—it still struggles. If both vehicles are stopped at a red light, you’ll read the plate clearly. But at normal driving speeds, motion blur still makes license plates hard to read. ​The Bottom Line: While it won't magically capture moving plates in every scenario, it is still a high-quality dash cam with great night vision and surrounding coverage. If overall image clarity and night performance are your main priorities, it's a solid choice. Raised my rating to 4 stars!

The installation is very straightforward and easy to do. It includes everything you need for proper installation. The mount of the main dash cam is not adjustable, which I thought was going to be an issue at first, but it was not needed. The wide angle view is actually amazing and far exceeded my expectations! I installed mine directly behind my rear view mirror as seen in the picture. The only thing you will need is an SD card. I like that it gives you the option to which cameras you wish to record with in the menu of the camera and you can even toggle which camera view you want to see full screen on the device. This dash cam has all the features I was looking for plus more, so in my opinion, it is a very good buy! Also, if you do not wish to use the provided 12v power adapter for the camera, you can buy a hard wire kit for a much cleaner installation.

Mein erster Erfahrungsbericht zur Vantrue N4S mit RC18 Heckkamera Gestern angekommen, gleich mal ausgepackt und getestet. wenn auch nut provisorisch verbaut, konnte ich schon einige Erfahrungen sammeln. Bildqualität und Funktionalität Die Videoaufnahmen liefern bei mir sowohl bei Tag als auch bei Nacht eine scharfe und detailreiche Darstellung, deutlich besser als mit der älteren N4. Durch den neuen Sony STARVIS 2 Bildsensor und die verbesserte HDR-Verarbeitung kann ich Kennzeichen vorausfahrender sowie nachfolgender Fahrzeuge auch bei Gegenlicht oder direkter Scheinwerfereinstrahlung bestens ablesen. Im direkten Vergleich zur N4 fällt mir zudem das geringe Bildrauschen bei Dunkelheit positiv auf, Überblendungen werden sehr gut reduziert. Die Innenraumkamera und schaltet bei Dunkelheit zügig auf Infrarot um. Die Menüführung empfinde ich als praxistauglich. Montage und Alltagsbetrieb Gehäuse und Halterung sind stabil verarbeitet und sitzen fest an meiner Frontscheibe. Ein großer Pluspunkt für mich gegenüber den Mitbewerbern: Da die Innenraumkamera direkt im Gehäuse der Haupteinheit verbaut ist, entfällt an der Frontscheibe ein zweites Kabel. Die Steckverbindungen sitzen stramm und sicher. Die Dashcam startet direkt mit dem Einschalten der Zündung und nimmt schnell auf. Ein klarer Kritikpunkt ist jedoch das proprietär belegte USB-C-Kabel, welches die hintere Kamera mit dem Hauptgerät verbindet: Durch herstellerseitige Änderungen am Kabel muss dieses bei einem Modellwechsel jedes Mal mit erheblichem Zeit- und Kostenaufwand neu durch das Fahrzeug verlegt werden. Das ließe sich deutlich benutzerfreundlicher gestalten, wenn man sich auf einen einheitlichen Standard einigen würde, damit auch Nachfolgemodelle mit dem bereits verlegten Kabel weiterverwendet werden können. Dabei würde es sich nur mehr empfehlen, wennn die Kabel als Koax-Kabel ausgeführt würden, denn die Stören deutlich weniger den Radioempfang. Ich empfehle, die Zuleitungen zusätzlich mit Klappferriten zu entstören, um Störungen beim DAB-Radioempfang im Fahrzeug zumindest zu verringern. Für diesen ersten Testbericht habe ich die Kamera zunächst also provisorisch im Fahrzeug verkabelt. Sobald mein endgültiger Festeinbau erfolgt ist und ich weitere Details getestet habe, werde ich diesen Bericht hier noch einmal aktualisieren. Dann kann ich auch besser beurteilen, ob es im Dauerbetrieb noch Störungen beim DAB-Empfang gibt. Für mich persönlich eine technisch ausgereifte 3-Kanal-Kombination mit sehr guter Aufnahmeleistung, gerade in der Nachtsicht und einem Kundenservice, der sich wirklich um den Kunden bemüht. Viele Meinungen sagen hier in den Bewertungen das Gegenteil, ich jedoch kann das nicht bestätigen.
