This is a review directed at the packaging, or lack of, that resulted in what I would not calla fair purchase. I received the spear with no packaging just the item label and UPS shipping label. The trocar tip was damaged, as if I shot the spear into the reef/rock. The finish was also scratched up and abraded but I don’t think it was used per se. It looked beat up. I don’t expect a spear to be pristine because all the cosmetic stuff will go as soon as I use it. I debated whether to send it back and get a refund or not but I decided to keep it. I sanded the tip to make it somewhat sharp because a spear shaft doesn’t need to be razor sharp or perfect to be lethal. The steel is spring stainless so I doubt it would be bent to the point of altering its flight path through water and the flopper is actually tuned well. Overall I paid 70 bucks for a 170 cm stainless trocar shaft which is going to be effective. I expected better from the whole Amazon experience though. This is not a shaft with a load assist tab so if you find it hard to load you will have to use a load assist.
