Review: No more thigh rub! - I've always avoided wearing skirts or dresses because of the dreaded thigh rub. I've tried Bandelettes, which are basically lacy bands that go around your thighs, but I found that those weren't as comfortable as I might have liked. So I was eager to try these Skimmies, which are basically like shorts, but made of a thinner slip-like material. And these were exactly what I was looking for. For someone more accustomed to wearing pants than skirts, the style felt super comfortable; the wide waistband is reminiscent of yoga pants and fits just right, smoothing without creating lines; the whole thing minimizes lines everywhere, though you still have to be a bit careful about wearing just any old underwear underneath; and the legs are long enough that they don't ride up. I tried the shorter version of these as well, but didn't like those as much, since the legs didn't seem to stay in place as well. Still, the longer length seems fine for pretty much any dresses that I want to wear, and I have pretty short legs. The one thing you need to be aware of is that this isn't really shapewear. It might help smooth out your stomach a little bit, but it won't really flatten it at all. On the one hand, this means that it's really comfortable; on the other hand, it means that it may not meet all of your needs. Personally, I liked these enough that I actually wore them on my wedding day, prioritizing comfort a bit over flattening. The important thing is that I was able to walk around in a dress for hours in the hot sun with absolutely no thigh trouble at all. I can't really express how happy I am to be rid of thigh rub, and with an article of clothing that's no trouble at all to wear. It feels comfortable and natural. I'm sure I'll be purchasing more of these in the future. Review: Perfect for wear under a hiking skirt - I bought one of these, then bought the multipack later on, I liked the first set so well. They are very comfortable. Not too tight, and they (mostly) stay in place. I bought them to wear under a hiking skirt, and they are perfect for that. Not too hot to wear on a hot day. They don't feel wet even when you perspire. They keeps your legs from chaffing. And if you are modest, and happen to stumble and fall, they are not too awful to be seen by a stranger who witnesses the unfortunate event. The legs do creep up slightly when you hike uphill, but they were not uncomfortable when that happened. I mention the creeping only in the interest of full disclosure. They wash well and easily line dry overnight. I'm going to take them on a long backpack trip, later this summer.

Excellent slip alternative
I love the look and ease of dresses, but in the warmer months I hate the sticky, sweaty feeling of bare legs under a dress. These are the perfect solution with the added benefit of coverage you'd get from a regular slip. This variety I like better than the original Skimmies because the fabric has more of a slick texture that skirts can glide over (the originals are more microfiber feeling and I've had skirts cling to it). They are very comfy and you can stretch or not stretch the legs to adjust the length depending on how long your skirt is. I do find the waist bunches up from sitting but not so badly that it creates a bad look under clothes. I can smooth it back easily. I'd definitely recommend trying a pair if you want to avoid sticky legs in the summer! As far as sizing, I wear an 8-10 in pants/dresses and the L size fits comfortably - not too tight or too loose.

Great under skirts to avoid that dreaded rub!
This has got to be the most useful item I hsve ever bought! That's high praise from me. Ive worn this to smooth under a tight fitting skirt and it did the job while letting me breathe. I also wore it under a bridesmaid's dress in an outdoor wedding in 90 + degree weather and it saved my legs. Never rolled down or up and was extremely comfortable for kicking it on the dance floor for 5 hours ( I repreat 90 degrees and flippin outdoors with no shade)!!! By the time everything was over I was drenched and melted but these spanx or whatever you call them stayed in place and kept my legs chafe free. Im also plus sized usually wearing a size 18 and the 2x was perfect in these. I would rate higher than 5 stars if I could!! To note, there is no easy bathroom access for these but I had very little trouble pulling these up and down.

There has to be a better way. Day three
Let me tell you how I found these. Day one: nearly used my teeth to open up the too tight waist of a long line skimmer after a 10 hour flight to Paris. Okay. Yes. I did use teeth (and a corkscrew). Day two: waist bands ragged but thankfully loose and sweated buckets in nylon blend skimmers. No rubbing thighs but wow! I’m now paranoid that my skirt has sweat stains as my thighs feel encased by hot nylon. There has to be a better way. Day three: dreading the heat and on amazon shopping. End result was alll my skimmers now have the waists cut open for comfort and are going in the trash. I don’t want compression. Simply a slimmer for a smooth line and preventing thigh rub. These are perfect. The fabric is silky so glides over knits. The waits is nice and wide. No fold over. I did order up a size. Normally a 14 (5’8” and 185) and ordered the 2xl as I want a loose waisted fit. Perfect!just ordered two more.

Mixed feelings
I ordered 2 pair of these for a vacation that was in both hot weather and required skirts. I am not a thin girl but I am not obese either. I bought these 2 help with thigh rubbing which I imagine is probably the number one reason most women by these type of underwear shorts. I had such high hopes for these to replace my old school " bike shorts" I've had for years. These were lightweight and comfortable at first. They fit well. However, the legs rode up which made them more uncomfortable than actual thigh rubbing. I seem to remember one pair rolling up really bad and the other one just sort of coming up but I still constantly felt the need to pull both legs in both pairs down. They also came pretty high in the front. not below the belly button as shown in the picture. this seemed to make me a little bit hot in the stomach area.

These Thunder Thighs are SO GEEKED!
Oh. My. Goodness. I’m so in love. I’ve worn Spanx for a few years under dresses, but these? They Spank the Spanx, hands down. If you just need a sheer short to wear under dresses/skirts, and want to keep friction to a minimum - this IS your bag. If you want full compression shapewear, these are not for you. However, there is a little smoothing with these, which is really nice. The band DOES NOT ROLL (make sure you order the correct size. I’m a solid 18 and went with a 2XL). The legs don’t creep. My skin can breathe. And, you don’t sound like a walking warmup suit or polyester diaper (seriously - not even a whisper of noise). Now I’ve been wondering what other miracles are out there that I’ve been missing all my life! Seriously. If you’re just trying to keep your thighs from rubbing together and want to forget you have shorts on under your dresses, get these. Excellent price for being this comfortable!

Disappointing and Not Good for Sweating
These are comfortable and might be okay to wear to the office. I’m a size 12 and ordered XL. I got these because I have to walk my dog on these unbearably hot, humid days. Anyway, these are supposed to keep you dry and cool. They don’t really. I also got a pair of Chaffree slip shorts for comparison. I wore the Chaffree shorts on a hot, humid day and I stayed dry. They were also much cooler than the jockey brand. I wore these Jockey shorts today, another hot, humid day, and I feel like I jumped in a lake. I sweat just as much both days, but these Jockey shorts don’t stay dry. If you need them for sitting in an air conditioned office, they’d be fine. If you are trying to stay cool and dry while outdoors, they don’t do the job.

Very glad I bought these!
I would recommend these to anyone wearing a dress, especially during the summer. They were very comfortable and worked as expected.

Incredibly comfy - gamechanger under long skirts & dresses
I wish I’d discovered these sooner! They prevent sticky thighs in summer & add warmth in winter. I got married in winter and wore them under my dress. Supremely comfortable and fit like a dream.
