Lacking in grip but well made and easy to dry hair.
I wanted to love this so bad because after all, this is a Dyson attachment. The size is perfect and you can tell it is well made but it didn’t grip hair as much as I would like. The bristles were soft and weak it was hard to create nice waves. Maybe it’s just me and I need more practice. But it mainly was to dry hair and I felt like I could do that without the brush attachment. I’ve had others that gripped it like a few person with lock jaw and made real nice curls. This attachment was underwhelming. The reason for 4 stars is because of the durability and material and despite not being the best at gripping, still gave me okay results. It still dried hair and gave some waves and it is affordable for the original product. I may need more practicing to get the grip right but overall not a bad attachment.

Banish Flat Hair Forever: The Secret to Her Perfect Salon Blowout at Home!
Finding the perfect gift for someone who already considers their hair routine sacred territory can be daunting, but picking up this attachment was an absolute masterstroke. My wife has been a dedicated user of her styling system for a while, but she often mentioned wanting more dramatic volume and a classic blowout look rather than just the standard curls. I decided to surprise her with the Dyson Airwrap Large round volumizing brush, and it has fundamentally revolutionized her morning routine. Watching her transition from struggling with a traditional heavy dryer and a separate round brush to effortlessly maneuvering this single, highly engineered tool is genuinely impressive. Right out of the box, the premium build quality that this brand is famous for is front and center. I opted for the Black/Rosé colorway to match her set, and it is stunningly sleek, locking onto her existing wand with a satisfying, secure click. The barrel itself is significantly wider than the standard attachments, which provides the exact mechanical advantage needed for longer hair or for achieving sweeping, glamorous body. The bristle design is particularly clever; they are firm enough to create the necessary tension to shape the hair effectively, yet flexible enough to glide through without causing painful snags or breakage. The real magic happens when you turn it on and see the physics at play. The precisely perforated honeycomb barrel allows the controlled airflow to penetrate deep into the hair section, drying and styling simultaneously. This means she isn't just baking her hair into shape with extreme, damaging heat; she is molding it with powerful air and mechanical tension. The large diameter of this specific brush is the absolute secret weapon for lifting the hair straight off the scalp to inject massive root volume, while seamlessly smoothing down the cuticle to eliminate frizz as she pulls it through to the ends. From a purely practical standpoint, the time-saving aspect of this attachment is phenomenal. A full, salon-quality blowout now takes her a fraction of the time it used to, and the results are consistently spectacular. Her hair comes out with this incredible, lightweight bounce and a mirror-like shine that genuinely looks like she just handed a professional stylist eighty bucks. Even more impressive is the longevity of the style; because the hair is dried and set into its new shape from a damp state, the volume and those soft, elegantly curved ends hold up beautifully throughout a long workday and even into the next morning. If you have someone in your life who relies on their styling system but craves that classic, voluminous, supermodel blowout aesthetic, this is the missing piece of the puzzle. The Dyson Airwrap Large round volumizing brush in Black/Rosé isn't just a simple accessory; it dramatically expands the capability of the entire machine. It turns an already fantastic tool into an absolute powerhouse, making it an incredibly worthwhile addition to the lineup that consistently delivers flawless, head-turning results.

Great accessory for my Dyson!
As someone who actually uses the Dyson Airwrap Large Round Volumizing Brush in Black every week, I can say it feels like a luxury upgrade rather than just another attachment. I already own the full Dyson Airwrap, and swapping in this bigger brush has made my blowouts faster and noticeably more voluminous. The bristles are longer and softer, so they glide through my hair without tugging, and they really get down to the roots, which is where I usually lose volume. The big difference I notice is that my hair feels fuller at the crown and along the lengths, almost like I spent an extra 10 minutes with a round brush at the salon. I have medium‑long, slightly wavy hair that tends to flatten out by mid‑afternoon, but with this brush, my blowout stays bouncy and smooth for most of the day. The airflow is strong enough to dry and style at the same time, but the heat doesn’t feel scorching on my scalp, and I don’t hear that awful hair‑on‑the‑brush squeak that some tools give. I also appreciate how much time it saves. Because the brush head is larger, I can take bigger sections of hair, so my routine usually finishes in about 20–25 minutes instead of 30–45. It’s especially nice on busy mornings when I just want to look polished without spending forever in front of the mirror. The finish is shiny but not greasy, and it works really well for a loose wave or a classic blowout; I can even refresh second‑day hair by warming sections without fully rewetting them. That said, the size does make it a bit less precise around my hairline and baby hairs, so if I want a super tight look near my forehead, I still reach for the smaller round brush. And since it’s just an attachment, it’s not cheap on its own, so it’s only worth it if you already own the Airwrap body. If you have shorter or very textured hair, this brush might feel like overkill, but for medium‑to‑long hair that needs body and a polished finish, it’s one of the most satisfying upgrades I’ve added to my routine.

Just like the original
I ordered this because I recently picked up a used Dyson Airwrap i.d. multi-styler and it came with barely any attachments, so I’ve been slowly filling in the gaps with the ones I know I’ll actually use. I already had the smaller barrel for tighter curls, so I wanted something that would give me more volume and a different kind of finish when I don’t feel like doing a full curl set. One of the main reasons I went with this version is that it’s made by Dyson. I’ve tried off-brand attachments before with other tools, and it’s always a bit of a gamble. I didn’t want to deal with something that didn’t click in properly or felt loose during use. This one fits perfectly on my Airwrap i.d. and feels exactly like the attachments that originally come with it. In terms of performance, this is very different from the barrels in a good way. Instead of curls, it’s more about lift and shape. The larger round brush gives me that blowout-style volume, especially at the roots, and the long bristles actually grab my hair well enough to create some tension while drying. I’ve been using it mostly at the crown and around the front pieces, and it makes my hair look fuller without needing to go back in with another tool. The airflow feels consistent and controlled, and I like that I can smooth things out while still keeping some movement instead of everything falling flat. It takes a little more coordination than the curling barrels since you’re guiding the brush yourself, but once I got the hang of it, it felt pretty natural. Summary: This ended up being a really useful addition to my Airwrap setup. It fits perfectly, adds noticeable volume, and gives me that softer blowout look when I want something different from curls.
