LiftMaster 8365W-267 Premium Garage Door Opener Chain Drive WiFi 1/2 hp No Rail

Relatively easy to install. The new drive unit matched up perfectly with the old support system, chain and chain rail. Even the old photo-electric sensors worked with the new unit. I had to replace the old wall mounted switch with the new switch provided with the package. Programming the door travel, etc. was very easy compared to the old version. Overall, I could not be happier. I hope this unit lasts 23 years. By the way, the old drive unit itself did not fail; the logic board died (thus no remote control) and no replacement was available.

I replaced a LiftMaster opener that was over 25 years old. I watched a YouTube Video on installation which really helped. What a great company that let me buy just the head and not the rail and chain. It installed so easy because LiftMaster did not change the way it was installed. Most companies would have made you replace new everything.Thank you LiftMaster for your great design and making it very simple to install, but yet, many new improvements. Again, I watched a couple of YouTube Videos which I recommend.

Having never installed one of these, but having an old 1/2 LiftMaster in place as an example, I guessed at the proper unit using input from reviews on Amazon. It fit perfectly.And the unit showed up exactly as described and, on the day, promised (used standard shipping).One small snag was that although an "owner's manual" was included (manual for the operations)--no "Installation Instructions" were included in the box. After fumbling with the initial install I was unsure how to program the door movement or set the chain tension. I researched the situation on YouTube and Google, along with a visit to chamberlain's website where these instructions were easily found, but I found itdifficult to follow all the instructions on an Iphone (tiny screen) while teetering on a ladder. Paper instructions would be better for me.Eventually called chamberlain customer service where my call was immediately answered. The customer service tech. master was very patient and got me on the road to success easily. They are generous with the parts (screws and fasteners) in the box, too.If I had to install another one, I'd be a lot faster and smarter, but I can tell you that most folks with a few tools, 2 ladders, and some patience--along with a helper to help install the chain, will be able to install this.Protip: The Youtube videos I saw showed folks installing this by themselves. Although I've had folks say that I am "handier than most", I know I'm no longer a spring chicken sitting on top of a ladder and I'm glad I had my college-age daughter to help me with that miserable greasy chain. This is the worst part of the install in my opinion.Side note. Having never installed one of these, I found it hard to believe that the whole operation relies on the shear strength of one pin in in master link of the chain. In my case, this is the 20-year bicycle chain from the original install. This is the chain which is driven by the sprocket on the motor. So word to the wise, make sure your door is balanced like mine is (and like the instructions advised) because you wouldn't want to be holding up a fairly heavy insulated door by a one pin in a masterlink. This is what you will be doing, if you don't balance the door so that the only work the motor really does is scoot the door back-and forth without having to dead-lift it. This was a great buy. Had an old LiftMaster door opener that finally died after 10 to 15 years.I don't normally write reviews, however, I wanted to on this one! It was a direct replacement for the older unit. All that was necessary was to un-bolt the other opener drive and bolt this on in its place, program the door up and down limits and that was it. The old sensors that were already installed work perfectly with this new unit. I did replace the outdoor keypad because this one comes with a new one. Also replaced the inside door control because the old one was also on its last legs...If you're looking for a replacement opener, order this one in confidence. I liked it so well that I just ordered another to replace one on one of our other garage doors.

I changed the box only from a1996 model liftmaster to a model 83650w liftmaster! I didn't have to change the old sensors ! I fallow the instructions and I can open my garage door with my car ;with the entry keypad on the side of the garage door (the is included) ; 2 hand remote controls (included also) and from the wall inside the garage (also included).easy to install; the iinstructions are easy to follow, like they trying to explain to a kid! I'm a full hairdresser salon owner not a electrician .I will recommend but follow the instructions 👍👍😊

I replaced a 17 year old Liftmaster. The booklet that comes with it provides the necessary setup instructions. I can't get the wall door opener learn button to work. So, I use the unit. Not a deal breaker for me. Like many others said, don't use LED bulbs. I did initially because I had them in my other unit. My remotes would not close the door with LED bulbs in the new unit. Shipping was very fast and the unit came several days earlier than expected.

Installed the product, it didn’t work, motor would not engage or run!! Spent 45 minutes with tech support to no avail. Plus when you got into tech support they charged you $5.00 and you were enrolled in a monthly member ship. Took the item down and will return it tomorrow.

My husband spent 2 years having to manually opening his side of the garage to park his car. I decided to purchase this for his Christmas gift with hopes that it is the correct type and easy to install. I am glad I did.We installed it in less than an hour. It runs perfectly:)
