The challenges of Tracy Anderson
The Tracy Anderson Method is extremely challenging, however, this book is an inexpensive and thorough way to learn her program and find out the secret to what it's all about. The exercises are not easy to say the least. I had to learn to do exercises that used muscles I never knew I had, and the repetitions made it even harder. She wants you to do a minimum amount of... I think it was 40 reps. You really have to work and train your body. The first time I attempted the work out, it took 3 hours. First of all, I couldn't do all of the reps for the muscle work. I think I would do 3 or 4 and have to stop and get my breath and rest. Then I would start back. And, once I did the reps on the right side, I had to do them on the left side. The muscle work alone took over 2 hours. Then there was the 40 minute cardio which was o.k. because she offered a plan for those that were absolute beginners, like me, and it went up to advanced from there. So you can work your way up. I read other reviews and alot of people didn't like her cardio because it looks like she's jumping around all over the place like a teenager. And, actually she is...but it's her way of choreographing and when you start the cardio from the beginner level, she tells you to-- not do any jumping, so you walk through it, then she eases you into jumping. The whole method is a 3 part component: muscle work, cardio, and diet. I had to tweak the diet because my budget didn't allow for some of the ingredients in all those recipes (sorry Tracy, I know you don't want us to make any changes to your method). I gave this review a 5 because Tracy Anderson has trained Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow and they look great. Tracy is clearly at the top of her game but, it is soooo hard and takes so much time. I did learn however, that after you do it for a while and learn it, you start to see results. I didn't make it through to the 30th day. Unfortunately, I stopped. But, I made it through long enough to begin to feel and see something. My body did start to change and I felt like my posture was getting better. I could feel the muscles in my legs begin to contract, pulling the skin in tighter. And, that's what she says will happen. She also tells you more or less that you will begin to feel how the method is sculpting your body, and you will, I did. So, this method can work for you, but a major issue will be the time it takes to do the workout. When I started out, it took 3 hours! I did eventually get it down to 2 hours and for some of the muscle work reps I got it down so that I could do a couple of them straight through to 40 without stopping. So--- if you're serious about trying this workout, which you really have to be, It takes true dedication to make it through this, but----- I think it's worth it. Tracy is tough and serious. You have to read the book to understand where she's coming from. She wants you to succeed and she tells you how. But, if you're a cry baby forget it. Her role is dance instructor, choreographer and teacher. And, I get the distinct impression from reading her book that Tracy has a no tolerance level for whiners. Some people have complained about the workout and the videos, but if you get the book, the moves are spelled out explicitly so that you know the correct way of performing them ---and it is a performance. She stresses this in her book. She really wants you to see her as your teacher and dance instructor. In the book, you're instructed to get a mirror, so you can see yourself perform the exercises. I had gotten so deep into it, that I actually thought during my workouts I could hear her say, "O.K. class, 1-2-3, 1-2-3..." It's organic! Seriously, though, I think this will probably be the hardest workout you've ever done. The arms workout is the bomb! I see why her arms are so skinny. I was trying the method alone, but it would have helped to have a support or chat group that I could have communicated with to keep me motivated. I was working out alone at home and one day I decided to postpone my workout for the next day. It was over the Christmas holidays. That was a big mistake. I never started again. And I lost all that progress I had made. But, my goal is to try it again and soon. This book along with her other DVD's can give you the information and foundation you need to have a body like Gwyneth Paltrow, so that is some motivation. Did you see her spread for the most beautiful woman in the world? She looked fabulous! And, she showed off that body of hers---remember the pic with the coffee cup? And, or course, Tracy Anderson looks amazing! But---- in the article Gwyneth said it was hard. So, ladies (and gents?) I hope this helps! Maybe we could get a Tracy Anderson Method chat room started...

Great fitness tips with DVD in!
Tracy Anderson was the trainer of Madonna and currently is the trainer of Gwyneth Paltrow, Shakira etc. Her training method sound logic and as it seems it works also. But you need at least 1,5 hours free a day to practice her method and this is a bit unrealistic. Her nutrition advice of approximately taking 600 calories a day is also unrealistic. I did not follow her diet but it is up to you...Good DVD and nicely written book, both are explanatory. For this price, it is a really good offer.
