Works well on small jars and bottles

I purchased this for my mother, who is experiencing hand weakness. It has helped her immensely. Before, she had to seek our help in opening bottles of any kind. Now this little jar opener allows her to open water bottles and other things. The cute duck shape also adds a bit of lightness to a situation caused by a not so fun condition. She refers to it as her "little duck". It has given her a measure of freedom back and I am immensely grateful.

I needed something to grab smooth, rounded caps. My other bottle opener had a tendency to scar or even crease them. This is a somewhat pricy but workable solution to this problem.I hoped it was silicon but it is rubber. It is a dirty yellow( definitely not the color in the picture). It does resemble the outline of a duck.

It's OK. It's hard to use. Wanted it to open bottles. I wrapped it around a San Pelagrino bottle cap which has sharp ridges (yes I am a princess) and pulled tight like the last picure. OK, then I tried pulling it around to twist it, which did nothing. My husband said grab from the top but that little nub (makes it look like rubber duck to me) made that hard. So I used wrapped the large part and gripped from the top and was able to open it. But it takes some dexterity to hold it in place and you still need to use some strenght, so you have bad arthritis it might not help you at all. It does keep those ridges from irritating my palm. It does give more leverage than a dishrag, so it helps. It have made it work and it will work on any size bottle or jar. It just isn't as easy to use as I'd like. I do think it will last fairly well.

I keep this in my purse for when ever I need to open a water bottle. It works great and saves my hands which hurt when I need to twist something.

The item is much smaller than it appears in the picture. For example, it can be used to open a standard 1quart mayonnaise jar, but it just barely fits over the lid if you stretch it open as far as possible. Once in place, it grips well, but doesn't improve your leverage, so you are still relying on the strength of your wrists to break the seal keeping the top in place. And finally, to add insult to injury, it is a hideous color that I would describe as "dead Caucasian beige". Not cute, just marginally useful, and expensive - three strikes and it's out.Maybe I could use it as a white elephant gift and insinuate that it's a sex toy..... No, that would just be mean. Don't bother with this product. Seriously.

Simple and effective

It is difficult for me to use. I have difficulty with my hands due to a stroke that affected my dominant hand.
