CitizenMen's AT2245-57E Eco-Drive "Axiom" Black Stainless Steel Watch

I purchased this watch without the box at a discount, and I couldn't be happier! It's beautiful and holds time better than any other watch I've ever owned!

I like the look of the watch, and it's a plus that is solar. However, there is a small white speck around the 9 position. It looks as though it was missed on the quality control.Since I had the watch re-sized, I'm keeping it. It's not so bad that you really notice it unless you look closely. Because of this I am dropping it two stars.The watch is light and thin, and you hardly know you are wearing it. It's a nice dress watch, and can move to casual easily too.So far the band has been tough, with no scratches.If it were not for the white speck, I would have given it five stars.

Let me start out by saying that as a chronograph, this watch is almost useless. Citizen has nearly stripped all the markings found on other chronographs and those that it did leave are illegible in all but the right lighting conditions. When timing something, you usually don't have the liberty to tilt the watch around until you see the numbers.But you can't deny that this watch is a stunner. And for that reason alone, I love it.Like others in the Axiom line, the inspiration for this watch appears to be the Museum Dial watch that has made Movado one of the most visually recognizable watches in history. Just enough is changed to prevent claims of copyright infringement.The "dot' has been replaced by a wedge, and the branding is placed below the 12'o'clock marker instead of 6 o'clock as it is in most Movados.Another big difference is the price. This watch is a fraction of the cost of a similarly featured Movado. Citizen is a well respected watch brand so you can't simply write this off as a knock off. This is a well crafted watch that evokes the same minimalist qualities of the original watch by George Nathan Horwitt. But without the luxury branding and price.The watch is water resistant to 30m. It will endure splashing and an accidental drop in the sink, but is not designed to be worn during any water sports at all. It Is accurate to +- 20 seconds a month. It also has a mineral crystal which is scratch resistant, At this price point, I would have preferred sapphire, but I have three Axioms and haven't scratched their face yet, so here's hoping.One of the best features of this watch is it's Eco-Drive light powered system which keeps charging the watch using light. Once fully charged, the watch can run up to 5 months in the complete dark. And even if you completely discharge the battery, it can be brought back to life simply by exposing it to light again. It really does away with the need of battery replacement so common on other Quartz watches, and is much more convenient than mechanical automatic self winding ones.Visually, this watch is a knock out. The silver hands stand in stark contrast to the black dial and matching bracelet. The minimalist design elements exude a simple elegance that just isn't found in most chronographs, which I find simply too busy.One last thing that should be brought up if your not familiar with chronograph watches. The "large" second hand is actually the second hand for the stop watch feature. During normal time keeping this hand is stationary at 12 o'clock. The "seconds" hand used for normal time keeping is actually on the small dial at the bottom of the watch face. This is a common practice for most chronograph watches, but for individuals used to a large sweeping second hand on traditional watches, it can be a bit confusing when you first unbox the watch and think it's broken because the second hand isn't moving.If you are seriously looking at this watch, then you already value style over function. And as far as style goes, this watch has it in spades.

My boyfriend loves this and has been wearing it non-stop. I gave one to him for Christmas because he's been needing a dress watch for a long time. He did have to take it to Kay Jewelers and have it sized though. Other than that it is a very classy looking watch.

Watch is fine... But the packaging in which the box came is shabby... I wanted too gift my friend this one...Really disappointed....

black around bezel and strap wore off in 5 days. I just received a replacement and I am willing to give this a try. If not back it goes.
