Hubbell 5129-0 3-Gang Weatherproof Cover, Vertical, Decorator, Gray, Shrink

I applaud whoever came up with this cover: I replaced a 3-gang lever style switch partially obstructed by a handrail, making the flip lid version unworkable. the salt air made the lever-style w/p switch unusable: the lever switches were immovably welded in one position.

Worked like it should. Just don’t use the screws provided. Ever. I did, just to see, and I had to change the screws out. They’re cheap. Otherwise, works fine. Bad screws every electrical outlet or switch differs from. Before they strip the holes. (That’s what she said)

This is an excellent alternative to use a weatherproof enclosure that you must open to flip the switch. This goes over a traditional switch using a waterproof membrane inside to give you easy access and still meet code for exterior.

I bought one of these three years ago for an outdoor kitchen. Top marks for being water-poof and holding up well to sun and rain. It also works very well with decorator style switch mechs however there seems to be a design flaw. My original one from three years ago developed a fault where one of the switches would not stay in the on position and kept returning to off. I figured after three years use that was not bad and bought another. Very disappointed to find that the new one has exactly the same fault right out of the box on a different switch. There is clearly a fault in the mechanism that provides the positive on / off action however it is designed as a single unit and is not serviceable. Hubble Bell - its a good product rendered useless by this single flaw.

So glad I found these covers. They look great, are as watertight as a certain part of a duck, and they were reasonably priced. I installed 2 of them on my back patio. Each switch controls a light or outlet. These covers gave me the flexibility to wire the way I wanted to. Highly Recommended.

Works great for standard decora switches. Just won’t work for dimmers.

Loved the look of this. I got my first one and after installation, the left switch was just a bit stiffer than the others, but I wasn't worried too much. Within a few days the left and middle would no longer function. The switch would move, but would not click into place. I had it replaced through Amazon and the next one showed up in a couple days. The day of install the middle and right switch failed in the same manner - would move, but wouldn't click into place. Decided not to take another chance and went with a different cover.
