Just What I Needed.
I have a dozen such books for reference material. This one has some really good everyday knots, easy to follow instructions, interesting lore, and historical uses for the individual knots. It fosters a useful skill set that will last a lifetime. It is well written and inspirational. This will be a handy book of knowledge, an instructional handbook, and a useful, forgotten, skill when the SHTF; a time when WORTHY, and Profitable Skill Sets will save lives. Be Prepared.

Good reference material with some unfortunate gaps
This book is worth owning as a reference for learning knots, in particular the spiral-bound version. The illustrations are high quality and the inclusion of a Purpose section for each knot is important practical information. But there are unfortunate gaps that keep this book from earning "Ultimate" status. For example, there is no explicit reference to the Arbor Knot (Canadian Jam Knot) and its many variants. More disappointing is the lack of a section detailing "trucker hitch" knots and their variations. These are probably two of the more practical and important types of knots to learn. Hopefully future editions detail these topics.

Interesting & Helpful Resource
So many helpful knots and hitches in here. Never knew most of them. Interesting story of history of some knots. Good reference book for novel writers.

Best knot book ever
5 Stars โ Exactly What I Needed Iโve picked up a lot of knot books over the years, but The Ultimate Book of Everyday Knots by Geoffrey Budworth is the most useful one Iโve found. The illustrations are clear, step-by-step, and easy to follow without overcomplicating things. Whether youโre tying down gear, rigging something on the boat, or just want to master the basics, this book has you covered. It doesnโt waste space on fluffโjust practical knots that work. I keep it close, and itโs already helped me out more than once. Highly recommend if youโre serious about learning knots the right way.

A True Gem of a book.
The author is a real expert in the field of knots and a very good writer. His historical writings on knots is fascinating, going back as far as 7ooo BC. His illustrations are superb and include knots for every imaginable purpose. The printing of the book itself is far superior to a lot of the cheaply printed books on the market these days. Iโm glad I sot the spiral bound edition, it lays flat on a table while I try tying some of his knots.

THE KNOT BIBLE!!
Thank you for creating this book. It is evident that you spent immense time researching knot history (fascinating in itself), the 5 types of knots, beautiful, clear, color drawings in step by step fashion, and explaining the function of each knot type, a knot that will NEVER slip, and even the knot experts organization (mostly in England where the Royal Navy used them) Also, you laid out the 5 or 6 known knot materials with strength rating, water reaction, temperature traits and even the different types of knot braids!! Now i can go to a store and quickly pick put the perfect rope for my purpose. With a knowledge of only 5 knots i can fasten common items securely without worry about failure. Even a money bag cinching knot! Well done! Nylon still one of the strongest materials. Spiderweb stronger than any other known material. Who would have guessed?!!
