A lumbar pillow needs to have some way to secure it to the seat back so it doesn't fall forward every time you get up. On the unit that was sent to me Dec 2015 there are two straps on this running horizontally. They are simply elastic. On my office chair they are too short and simply won't go around the back. Same goes for the car seats in our Prius. So that's aggravating. On the narrower backs of my kitchen stool and wooden dining chair they work alright but it would still be better to have an adustable buckle I think even without elastic. There is simply no way that fixed elastic straps are going to work universally.I have one of the mesh on wire type of lumbar cushions (no padding, just an arched mesh) that are quite inexpensive, and they are wider and have a single long adjustable non-elastic strap with a quick release buckle. I would say that strap arrangement is a lot better and will fit around even large padded chair backs. But for certain kinds of chairs the wire-mesh shape does not really fit the chair back so that's not a perfect solution either. It really requires a fully padded type of pillow like this. If you are like me and need lumbar support in a number of different chairs, I would suggest trying a few different designs to see which works well. You will probably also have different kinds of chairs where one pillow design works better than another so having different shaped pillows would be helpful.The fabric on this is a fairly nice soft black leather like material, the stiching and workmanship are nice, the foam is a decent density. The pillow is a bit narrow from left to right. I would prefer if it were about 3 inches wider.So to sum, this is a decent pillow but only if it fits your chair which would have to be on the narrow side for the straps to fit and the width of the pillow to be adequate. I will not send this back but in future I would definitely look for one with adjustable straps.

Update: After using this for a while whenever I wasn't home, my wife insisted that I buy TWO for her: one for the couch and another for her use in the car. Guess that says something ...I bought this on an Amazon "Deal" and I'm basically happy because it fits my needs, but it may not fit everyone's. Sitting back against it, I didn’t sense that it was made of memory foam. I sat back into it and it stayed as it was (as far as I could tell), firm, supportibve, but and non-shaping. In short, it didn't seem to conform to me. Nevertheless, I wasn't looking for that, so I was very happy. It provides excellent, firm support in the lower back area, and nice side support. I’m not a small person (a moderately trim 6’2”), but this fit my lower back perfectly. My wife tried it (she's 5’6”, and it was perfect for her, as well).It is covered in a fabric that looks like Naugahyde, but feels leather-like, but whatever it is, it seems to be something that will wear well. The cushion comes with two straps that can fit over anything, but choose carefully. Once you fit them over an item, they stretch out and don't come back. In other words, if you use the straps over your car seat, they will stretch out and will be too "wonged-out" to later use over a couch throw-pillow.For the price and my needs, I'm very happy.

When I first put this into my car at the start of a long 8 hour drive, it felt a bit stiff. I was worried that it wouldn't be comfortable.However, after just an hour or two, it started to form to my back.You need to give this thing time to mold itself into the right shape! If you're not heading right out on a long roadtrip like I did, then I'd recommend using it in your office chair or somewhere else that you'll be sitting for a long period of time before you put it into you car. After it gets some use, it feels great!

I bought this for my office chair but the straps didn't hug my chair like I thought it would. I had to do some MacGyver-ing to be able to use it. The problem was that the straps are horizontal and my chair's back is long, so no go. I had to tie the two straps together at the back middle so it is now an "X" instead of " I I ". So I can use it and its comfy but I really should of checked the straps vs my chair. If it can fit on your chair, then yes I recommend it. It is honestly comfy.

I wouldn't exactly say that this is the type of memory foam i was expecting, there's nothing "memory" about it (ie it's so firm that you cannot leave an impression in the material like most memory foams are advertised to do). This does provide good shape to the lumbar while sitting, but it almost feels like it is pushing into your lower back instead of supporting it, which leaves my back muscles feeling soar and achy. I would have preferred an actual memory foam material to be used. Also, the straps run vertically instead of horizontally, making it impossible to securely fasten to most office chairs. The strap needs to run side to side, not up and down, for cushions to attach to most chairs.

Works well, holding up to every day, all day use. My back was more sore for 2-3 weeks, but that's to be expected when you suddenly use good posture after years of ugly posture. It's helping now, throughout the daily activities and while sitting. Not necessarily made for bigger people, but I'm still getting good use out of it. That's my 4-star reason - it's a bit small in the width from side to side, as well as a bit bent out of shape from heavy use... yet seems to be doing the trick.

Nice cushion but the elastic straps were too small to go in my truck yet the description said it could be used in vehicles. I could have put it in my truck without the straps but would need to adjust it and keep it from falling out so I just put it on the chair in my office where is works fine. I would have given it 5 stars if it fit in my truck.
