Geometrical Optics and Optical Design (Oxford Series in Optical and Imaging Sciences)

The perfect geometrical optics book covering paraxial optics to aberration theory. It's a shame they stopped at one edition. The information is pratical and well explained. We really need another addition.

A good addition to my optical design library.

This book covers geometrical optics in a clear, concise, and deep manner. As an optical engineer, I have gone through many, many optical lens design texts and this is by far, hands down, the most clear and well organized text.

This is a great book for the optical design student. The problem sets are challenging and test the student's ability to realize some of the more subtle points in optical design. Great sections on aberration theory.
