I read thru reviews/Q&A for this and similar HDMI voice switcher units and saw common complaints and questions:* It works fine as a remote controlled or manual button-press HDMI switcher, but getting it to work with Alexa was extremely difficult/impossible* Instructions too brief and difficult to understand* What size battery in the remote? (It's a CR2025 for the one I got)For folks having problems getting it to work on WiFi/Alexa, the biggest hint I can give is to ensure your router has 5GHz shutdown temporarily during setup, to help ensure your mobile phone and the HDMI switch are on the exact same 2.4GHz wireless network since the HDMI switch only supports 2.4GHz which is common for IOT devices. If you get that far despite the poor instructions, the voice commands via Alexa using Voice Switcher are still another cumbersome hurdle.A problem I ran into is the small remote doesn't send a very powerful IR signal, so if trying to relay it thru an IR receiver+sender to put this HDMI switch elsewhere in the home, you have to be standing nearly right in front of the IR receiver to get it to relay the signal properly. If using Alexa-voice control only not a problem outside of the odd voice combos needed to control it.Biggest gripe to warrant a 1-star review and caused me to return the device was a noticeable audio vs picture sync issue that happened often enough that I gave up. Restarting the HDMI switch would normally clear the problem for a short period, but that was a fatal flaw.So YMMV.

Well I guess you get what you pay for. The device is nicely packaged and looks and feels of quality however looks are not everything. The instructions and app are a little confusing due to some rough Chinese to English translation.The remote is what you’d expect and works perfectly, while the switch itself responds immediately to the remote.The first one I ordered would not display video from input 3 and the physical selector button was mounted upside down. Amazon promptly replaced it.The replacement works with all inputs but the signal out seems to display random lines every so often across all inputs. If I can’t resolve, it will also go back.The Alexa voice commands do work, but they are somewhat cumbersome.This product appears to be a good idea/concept but with poor execution.

I ordered a simple SMARTOOO 3X1 HDMI Switch 2 years ago, and I upgraded my switch by this Alexa HDMI switch from XOLORspace since my friend sent me an Amazon echo. Tested for days and it works perfectly with APPLE TV 4K Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos audio, and PS 4 PRO 4K 60HZ HDR. It has worked as the name of "voice switcher" but I want it to be even simpler. I renamed it to “switch” by app. and echo recognized it very well. It’s very cool to control the switch by “voice”!

paid more than I should have for Alexa support, and it simply does not work with Alexa changed the names of the devices with the app after a dozen or so attempts but Alexa simply does not recognize the names,I am back to pushing buttons and I could have bought a button pushing device for a lot less

When attempting to download the app, I get the page does not exist message. I emailed the seller but never received a response. Amazon support did try to help me. Unfortunately, I installed it way past the return deadline. My bad. They were able to give me the seller's contact info. The device works just fine with the remote. However, it defeats the purpose. Luckily, this item is available through other sellers. My recommendation... Buy from someone else through Amazon. Amazon still rocks, even if the seller doesn't.

Seems to work as described, everything passes through that I know of. Don't know about long term use, most hdmi switches go tits up after about a year or two.
