Paterson ptp643 Spot Finder – Black

I built up a new darkroom setup after decades away from analog photography. I was going to go with a different model on the used market, because this one looked too low quality. In the end concern for the quality of some of the used gear on eBay etc. I came back and ordered this. Well, I was happy enough to say this does the job and does it well at a low price. I couldn't ask for much more. No complaints. Sure, there have been better grain focusing devices, but some of those also cost and still do cost hundreds of dollars.

I still dabble in the darkroom. A grain elarger allows exact focusing on an enlarger. If you do darkroom work this is a valuable accessory, but not everyone bothers to get one. It really lets you get focus perfect, so I recommend it to darkroom users. Makes a great gift to someone that uses the darkroom. Also known as a grain enlarger. This one is fixed focus, has a built in dust cover, and is made of plastic, so will never corrode. The plastic is well designed in a sturdy fashion. I'm very pleased to have one.

Product is easy to use and as advertised

Paterson company is old in this profession, they have don a great job making quality darkroom equipments. I like this focus finder,,, it feels light and cheep, but it does its job! I like the grey sleep around the scope,,, you slide it down and would cover the mirror exposed part to protect it from dust while storing it, and the upper viewing eye has a cap to cover also. I give it 5 stars for the convenience comparing to the price.

Questo focometro è tra i più diffusi sul mercato e sicuramente indispensabile per avere la certezza di una corretta messa a fuoco in camera oscura.L’utilizzo è abbastanza intuitivo ma è importante tarare lo strumento prima dell’utilizzo. Al centro del mirino infatti vedrete una linea nera, che dev’essere regolata attraverso la vite laterale fino a quando sarà perfettamente nitida. Ne consiglio l’acquisto assolutamente!
