This is quite the set! Took me (& my 4yo) a few hours to build, but we also had my parents over. If you're assembling by yourself (and already good at following LEGO directions), you might get it done quicker. There is SO MUCH in this set! Small kitchen, two (very) small hotel rooms, a lounge, lobby, two water slides, rooftop party venue, and a monorail. The monorail is very cool and slides back and forth pretty easily. That being said, it does block your access to much of the "backside" of the set so that it's very hard for me to get my hands into the lobby for example, if the monorail is up. It is pretty easy to take it off and on, though. It also takes up quite a bit of space, so if you're going to leave it up and assembled, make sure you have enough room!

Got this for my 11 year old daughter. She’s pretty mature for her age so I was glad she still had interest in “toys.” She was psyched to open it up for Christmas. She felt it was amazingly detailed and just challenging enough to keep her engaged. She did the whole thing in two or three intended sessions. I had to stop her to remind her to eat lunch:) I asked her if she thought it was too easy or too difficult or just right. She said it was perfect. Highly recommend this. Well made and the little details were amazing.

I bought this set on sale and at that price it was well worth it. Its still expensive, but it is lego and the quality is fantastic. It was a gift for my 9 year old daughter who really likes the lego friends lego sets. So much more advanced than the simple square and rectangle lego block sets from when I was a kid.

This lego set kept my daughter busy for 2 days! She loved it and liked the moving pieces. I moved it and quite a bit of it broke so I had the task of putting it back together. The instructions were pretty easy so even mom was able to solve the problem that she caused by trying to move it. My advice, have your child build it where it will remain or on top of a board to make transport easy.

My daughter loved it! I was hesitant to purchase such an expensive set but she insisted and saved up her own money to buy. She has built and taken apart several times in only a week. Very nice little details throughout the set. Love it!

Did any else buy this set thinking they would actually be able to stay in the resort? I'm not sure where the confusion is here but my 5 year and old and I were pretty sure this was a life size replica of the real Heart Lake Resort where Olivia, Emma, Stephanie, Andrea, and Mia hang out every day. Instead it is a plastic Lego set that is only about a foot tall. On the positive side, I get to avoid para-sailing and that obnoxious dolphin splashing around. This small version is quite lovely besides for the obvious disappointment described above.

Excellent set. Exactly as depicted. Attention to detail with the supplemental pieces was enjoyed by my daughter. Has a neat tram system. Lots of pieces to put together.

Big, lots of pieces but so fun! My 7 year old loves it! We keep the set out and she plays with it a lot.
