Exactly what I was looking for
Bought this to use on my motorcycle and got a chance to take it for its initial ride today. I was very impressed with this mount. I had the smaller RAM mount before and that one would spin anytime I hit a bump. It got so bad I had to take a piece of plastic and jam it into the jaw mechanism before a ride. This mount was awesome. It didn't budge at all the whole trip and I went over some pretty bumpy roads. I was very pleased with the results. I mount my Garmin Nuvi 55LM on it and it holds it in place perfectly even without the WebGrip. I'll probably use the WebGrip just for insurance when I use my iPhone 6s Plus but it seems like it would hold it just fine without it as well. Couldn't be happier with this purchase. Very glad I upgraded to the larger size mount.

Durable, strong and well worth the money!
I’ve bought ram mounts starting about 56 years ago for my work vehicles to hold iPads with locks on them and to fit my exact models. These things are rigid, durable, and well worth the money.I’ll tell you one thing the versatility of all the ram mounts and the things that they offer is mine blowing. One thing that surprises me as we’ve all bought suction cup mount for GPS units cell phones you name it. The suction cup mount that comes with this ram mount system is really, really strong. I am shocked at how well the thing holds. I would recommend ram mount systems to anyone hands-down over anything else that they’ve probably ever tried. There is a way to mount anything virtually! You can literally get lost and excited looking at all the options that they offer. The best thing is is that all of them are made to last.

Wireless Charging on my motorcycle! Highly Recommended
Not that it really matters but the manufacturer Ram Mount includes this tether now with the X-Grip. I have existing Ram hardware on my motorcycle but the older style universal holder couldn't accommodate my new larger phones, the Samsung Note 5 or Lumia 950XL. These are both about the size of the iPhone 6s Plus. I read a negative review where a guy had trouble with his phone slipping out when hitting a minor bump. Not sure why mine is so much more secure but no way highway bumps are going to jar my phone loose BUT I never chance it and use the tether regardless. My guess is my case? I use the Tech21 case Tech21 - EVO Tactical Case for Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Cell Phones - Black that gives the phone a much better grip than without a case but its immaterial now with the tether that keeps the phone secure. FYI , the tether comes with the ability to connect all four corners of the phone but in actual use I only use two opposing corners and it works great and much easier to attach. The feature about this X-Grip that I also liked was the large rubber grips for the phone so that I could use a wireless charging base with it. I just glued this bad boy on the X-Grip PowerBot® PB1032 Ultra Slim Qi Enabled Wireless Travel Charger Inductive Charging Pad Station The whole system works perfectly for me. So the bottom line is now I have a great way to not just easily mount but also WIRELESSLY charge my phone while on my motorcycle because both the Samsung Note 5 and Lumia 950XL come with internal wireless charging. In my older setup I was always needing to plug in the phone every time because the GPS function tends to drain the battery pretty quickly.EDITED:I don't need to use the wireless charging base and could simply connect the USB power cable directly to phone for those of that don't have wireless charging in your phone like the iPhone's. Here is how I power the base. I use an accessory to provide a power out to the phone directly or the charging base in this case. As well I had to get a 10 ft long USB cable so I could easily hide the wiring along the frame and up to the handle bar. My accessory plugs into my battery tender connection so it's real easy to swap over to the battery tender when I have it in the garage. There are lots of products that you might consider. They each have their advantages and here are a few. WebGrip worked well. Ram X-Grip I had an issue with
Only used for a week long motorcycle trip so far but the WebGrip part held my iphone 7+ in the Ram X-grip well, even when off-road and hitting some big bumps. Surprisingly the Ram X-Grip is what I had issues with. The rubber cones on the end of the arms that grip your phone can easily slide off the arms when removing or just adjusting your phone in the cradle. I adjusted the angle of the phone while riding and two of the rubber cones came off. I stopped and found one caught in a strap for my tank bag but the other one is lost forever. Now I'm going to buy a replacement set of 4 (https://www.amazon.com/qty-RAM-X-Grip-Post-Caps/dp/B00BTFIEJO) for $7.99 but if RAM just used a tiny bit of adhesive during manufacturing I suspect replacement post caps wouldn't even be available on Amazon because no one would be losing them!! Ram also could have made the metal arms with small barbs so the cones (Post Caps) didn't easily slide off the posts. I have no issues with the WebGrip part of this purchase. The Ram X-Grip phone cradle also works but it seems like they cut a corner or two in their assembly.the attached photo shows the shiny smooth metal arm or post where a "post cap" was previously located.

They include recommend gluing the rubber legs
Got this for my iPhone 6S Plus to be used on my motorcycle. Did a test run for about a half hour and it was rock steady. I did not use the securing rubber strap that came with it but will do so on an extended or day trip.Very secure. They include recommend gluing the rubber legs, but they are quite snug to start with. Maybe in the future I will. I used a U Bolt with a Ram ball to mount on my bike's handlebars and this RAM Mount X Grip is connected to it with a short RAM arm. Its nice to have the phone out (instead of in my jacket), for quick Google map searches or find places where to eat or get gas etc. Of course I do all this when I am pulled over somewhere safe and away from traffic.I have my phone paired to my helmet headset. RAM always makes great reliable stuff.
