CE-5 Stereo Chorus Ensemble Guitar Pedal (CE-5)

I’ve used the CE-5 for many years. When I first bought one, it was a toss up between the CE-2 and the Chorus Ensemble, and after playing using both, my money went to the CE-5. It’s lush, stereo chorus is like no other chorus made, and it literally has a sound of its own. I especially like the ability to shape the EQ, and despite the number of knobs, it’s literally impossible to dial in a bad chorus sound. It’s easy to use, built like a rock like all Boss pedals, and looks perfectly at home on my pedal board which contains not only other Boss pedals, but many other manufacturers pedals as well. If you’re on the fence, pull the trigger. You’ll never go back.

It's a boss so it's gonna sound great. Easy to use, good value for money and works with clean and distortion tones . Good size and design. All metal build.

As an intermediate guitarist who is right on money, I found this pedal to be a great deal. I bought it so me and my friends could jam to come as you are by nirvana and to get started on my pedal board. A very good pro about this pedal is that it is EXTREMLY durable. Just like any other boss pedal, these things are built like tanks and will take even the most of severe beatings. The effect is very "wet" and echoey. I don't know how to describe it with words. If I could try to use only one it would be the word calm. The effect has four knobs that help you dial in your style perfectly and it is fun to fool around with the controls. This review has been all over the place but I'm just trying to put the positives in the light! I hope this has been helpful

Every Boss chorus is beautiful in its own way. This one is nice because you can cut the highs or lows to work with your sound. Particularly for using with distortion and overdrive, this baby is tops. However, people hold fast to the psychologically compelling idea knobs ought be at high noon—it would just be crazy to go more than a hair past “medium!”—so they point the filter knobs at high noon and then complain the chorus is "too subtle." Yes, because you have turned off 50% of the chorusing effect. The default position for the filter knobs is at "flat"--or all the the way clockwise. The other cool think about this chorus is it cycles unusually fast when you crank the rate all the way up.

Nice pedal. Rather subtle. Hasn't blown my mind, but helps on some more sensitive songs. It functions just fine.

Boss makes excellent pedals and I love the sound that comes from this chorus. The first CE-5 I purchased randomly went out on me after about 3 or 4 months and after I contacted the seller they RMA'd me without any problems (lucky I kept the box, manuals, and everything else). I had forgot to mention to the seller that my address had changed and the pedal had already shipped to my old address. After a few emails with the sellers the issue was corrected and I received my brand new CE-5 today! I would recommend both this product and the seller (NGEM) to anyone looking for guitar equipment.

Usual Boss build quality and excellent control over sound - works well with acoustic guitar as well as electric. Preferable to the CH1 to my ear.
