Fobus1911 Right Hand Roto Evolution Paddle with Rail Fits Up to 1 3/4" Belts Right-Hand Black Belt Holster

I have an RIA 52000. It is not a work of art, but a workhorse. The holster does not need to be a custom made thing of beauty that I would be afraid to use. Like the gun, it needs to be rugged, functional and not too pricey. Looking for an inexpensive holster to fit that beast was like searching for hen's teeth. Fobus provides the rugged, functional, and low price. That leaves fit. Some reviews indicated it would fit, others said not. The problem is the 6 inch barrel, the full length rail, and the large front sights. Seriously, this is a big and heavy handgun, and carrying concealed is absolutely not an option. I just wanted to have it on my hip, easy to access, and securely held. So, I took a chance and ordered the Fobus Roto Evolution.Upon opening the package, I immediately checked to see if the RIA 52000 would fit. It slid into the holster with no problem and looked great. The next thing I did, was to try to pull it out. That is where I hit a little snag, literally. The trigger guard was being held just a bit too tight for an easy draw. I was somewhat disappointed, but I hated to give up completely. Everything else fit perfectly, so I decided to try a minor modification, and I mean VERY minor. I removed the spacer on the screw just below the trigger guard and replaced it with a slightly larger one. Viola! It worked as I hoped it would. The gun slides in easily, holds securely, and slides out without much effort. I am very glad I took a few minutes to make the modification. Otherwise, I would have missed out on a well made and well fitting holster at a reasonable price.As with all my reviews, I will return to update, if and when my experience and opinion of this product changes.

Struggled to find a holster to fit above gun. The full length rail on the pistol made it very difficult. This fit perfectly. Easy on and off. Really like the ability to change the cant as well.Now that I've had this for awhile i find it spends more time in drawer than being used the retention screw constantly works itself loose and the design places the weapon further away from the body than I like so it tends to get hung up on when trying to get in and out of auto. Have since found several other holsters that better fit my carry style.

I got this as my RIA 1911A1 FS-Tactical 2011 as a FULL Picintally Rail and very few holsters are out that will accept this weapon WITHOUT having to be modified. Got this one because it would NOT have to be modified. Rotates 360 degress so you can get the custom cant you wish, BUT the Paddle portion of the holster (where it connects) is very flemsy... When drawing the weapon, the holster wants to cant, binding the weapon in the holster (NON-ACCEPTABLE).. By ensuring you take your time and draw the weapon out slowly you can't prevent this binding but I DO NOT have time for that. As a LEO, I need it when I need it and I do NOT want problems with binding (I tried the tension adjust and that didn't help). If Fobus redoes the Paddle with STRONGER MATERIAL, this will be a great holster (In My Opinion). I've written them on their site and informed them of my concerns, and I'm sure I'll here back from them. If they make the improvments and have a solution I'm ready to purchase another with the improvments... I like it, BUT not right now...GySgt. USMC RetiredLt. LEO Active

I ordered this for my Sig Nitron Rail and it is too snug to fit so I'm sanding away some material and it is getting close to fitting just right. Just make sure that you oil it when it gets close because it seems to slide much easier after you oil it with your favorite gun oil. I did that with another holster for another pistol and it was snug and then I oiled it and then it was perfect. It can't be too snug or you will have trouble pulling it out. I like this holster because it sits just right and you can adjust the angle on it.,

I have another one for w/o rails, perfect fit on any std. 1911. This holster I had to file and cut as the front sight would hang up and make it very difficult to draw. Took about an hour and some fiddling around and got it the way I like it.

I ordered this although I got same day shipping it wasn’t worth it , original packing was open . Item looked used had a lot of scuffs on plastic.

All in all I like this holster. The fit is perfect for my Springfield TRP half rail, and also for Rock Island 2011 VZ w/ Full Length Rail. The retention is adjustable, and drawing the firearm take some practice, but I am very confident it is secure. I really like drop holsters and with this holster the firearm rides lower than a standard duty holster. I would recommend it.
