Painting with Brenda Harris, Volume 4: Gorgeous Gardens

I have every one of Brenda's instruction books and I've enjoyed each and every one. It is my opinion that this is her finest book to date.I have been a painting teacher for over twenty-five years and I have found her books to be a great way to help those students wanting to learn about acrylics. While acrylic painting can be intimidating to some, I have found that Brenda's techniques using Clear Blend, White Blend and Slow Blend not only give the painter the 'extra' time they would like but it also makes it all nearly 'goof proof'. The step-by-step paint along lessons take you through the learning process in an easy to follow manner. I would suggest this or any of her past books if you are interested in learning a new painting method. Also, Brenda even encourages the begining student to go ahead and use the bottle acrylics if they don't want to buy all new supplies for a painting medium they may or may not enjoy. Once you find that you too enjoy using acrylics you can then move toward a product with a heavier pigment.This North Light Book publication has 112 pages with over 163 colored photos to help you along the way plus 10 pages of patterns.

Arrived in perfect condition - thank you, seller! The book itself is quality although Ms. Harris' style is a little more 'method' than fine art. However, my Dad has done a number of paintings from her shows and books, and they always come out beautifully! Recommend the seller (who gets 5 stars) and the book.

This book is okay if you are just looking for something to paint, a reference. She wants you to mix a lot of paint from her own preferred palette. By the time I would get all the paints mixed, I'd be out of the mood to paint. I much prefer mixing on the palette. The book gives basic instruction but not enough information so that you know how to accomplish what it is saying to do.

Brenda Harris and Dorthy Dent are my favorite artists. I like the step by step process being shown as I have never had art lesson. I like that there are templates for each painting you do.

Like all of her painting instruction books, this one has beautiful paintings and good instruction. I've been very pleased with this purchase.

I have other books by Brenda Harris and I love them all. The books have great instructions. Would like more of her books!

Book is as new condition, transfers are intact. Still reading and absorbing contents, could be useful.

I am so pleased with the Painting Books by Brenda Harris. Very clear and easy to follow instructions in all books. I am in my element painting again now. Thank you to the companies that supplied them to me. One of the books took a little longer to arrive but I did receive it eventually and am so happy now. x

Only thing I found a bit confusing was some of the colours and products she advised were unfamiliar to me but I just substituted what I thought she meant.
