I’m pleased with this cooling fan – in fact, it’s allowed my wife and me to get some proper, restful sleep during this third heatwave. I would have given it 4.5 stars if that option existed, not because it’s failed us, but because it has a few quirks. More on those in a moment.The reality of evaporative cooling in the UKFirst, the science. Evaporative cooling works brilliantly in hot, dry climates – if incoming humidity is around 20%, you could see a temperature drop of roughly 10°C. But here in the UK, daytime humidity rarely drops below 30–40%, and at night it often sits at 60–80%. In those conditions, expect a more modest drop of about 4–5°C.That said, in our reasonably sized double bedroom, we’ve both slept comfortably with it running on the humidification setting at mid-fan speed. We followed the instructions carefully: bedroom window slightly open, bedroom door open too. That cross-flow is essential to stop the room from becoming overly humid, and we haven’t found that to be an issue at all – I put that down to the natural airflow from the open window.The "fiddly" bit – the water reservoirThis is where the design gets a little tricky. The reservoir is a slide-in drawer in the base, holding about 4 litres of water. Attached to the bottom is a small pump with a hose and electrical cable, which sends a steady trickle of water up to the cooling plate at the top.You can pull the drawer out part-way, but the flexible pipe stops it from coming all the way out. To fully detach it, you have to reach into the bottom of the drawer, unclip the pump unit, and then carry the whole drawer to the tap. The problems? 4 litres is heavy, the drawer is bulky and doesn’t fit under every tap, and refitting the pump means submerging your hands to clip it back into place – all possible, but undeniably fiddly.My solution – and I stole this from another reviewer – was to buy a simple 2-litre plastic kitchen jug and fill the reservoir without ever disconnecting it. Much easier.A note on the freezer blocksYou’re supposed to freeze the supplied cooling blocks for around 8 hours and pop them into the reservoir before adding water (otherwise you can’t gauge the correct fill level). They do seem to help – I experimented with four blocks one night, and although the water ran out after about 6 hours, the air definitely felt cooler. My one gripe is that they simply float around loose in the drawer; a simple clip-in cage would have been a much better design.The bottom lineDoes it work? Yes – on a couple of nights we actually had to switch it off halfway through because the bedroom got too cold, then back on again a few hours later when it warmed up. So it can genuinely make a difference.My advice to potential buyers:• Don’t expect air-con levels of cooling, especially in humid UK conditions.• Follow the positioning instructions carefully – that open window for airflow is non-negotiable if you don’t want a very humid bedroom.• Use a jug to fill the reservoir and save yourself the hassle.• On the plus side, it’s very quiet, which for sleep is a huge win.

This thing is unbelievably good! Just short of a mini hurricane. It makes my old 46in tower fan feel like a paper fan. When this thing is switched on, you really feel it. Even on its lowest setting it does the job. Quiet enough to keep on all night, not loud at all. It’s a bit weighty but that’s down to it being filled with water to help the cooling. Really easy to use, fans aren’t all that complicated! The remote works really well, I usually have an issue with them being glitchy if you don’t hold them or aim them perfectly, but this one is fine. The evaporation is noticeable. You can’t see a mist or anything but it definitely feels cooler side by side with a fan that doesn’t have a water tank built in. Love that it came with two freezer blocks which means you can rotate them out the freezer so there’s always a cold one in the fan! Very solid fan! Worth every penny.

It’s not a aircon system and does cool the air like an air conditioner but it does blow cool air at you and is quiet enough for sleeping at lower fan modes

Hi everyone in the WORLD especially in baking HOT Europe 2026.This Cooling Fan works well with windows OPEN - But.... Lets in excess heat from Outside - so NOT correct when this is SOLD.I tried the fan with Windows closed and the room temp dropped by 1.5c, however opened the Window with outside temp at 34c, but the temp dropped a further 3C.so lets put the MATHS here - if the outside temp is boiling HOT at 35C plus DO NOT OPEN THE WINDOW - This fan will only cool the room by 3C but letting excess HEAT if turned OFF. so your room will be back to 30c plus!In the manual Dreo mention that the WINDOW should be OPEN for the best result which is a JOKE!!!!It does cool down the room, the Power is great - just DO NOT OPEN the window if OUTSIDE it is hotter than your room.All in all - This is a good Cooler for Evenings ONLY - when you can OPEN your window and get the balanced COOL Air, otherwise INVEST in a MISTING FAN -where you don't need to OPEN a WINDOW1After 3weeks of testing, we sent it back as the performance was poor. Instead we got a 43inch breeze Tower fan which worked a GEM!I will invest in Misting Fans from DREO when they come available no doubt from October onwards. But worth wait and Investment for next years Heatwaves! In the meantime very happy with our Breeze Tower fan!

Wonderful cooler. Easy to put together, comes with 2 ice packs. The fan does not scare my Cat, she lays where she can feel the cool air. It did struggle when it was 34 outside, but, I refilled the water reserve with chilled water. I struggle in the heat due to my medication, so can adjust the fan directly at me. Very happy.

It's a fan that is BIG and it is expensive. The water and ice cubes do nothing. We have a tower fan from the same brand and it is exactly the same output, smaller physical size though.Even with water and ice, its just an extra hassle. The container for water detaches and you have to detach part of a refrigeration unit that was submerged in water, which drips all over the floor.We also have another fan from the same manufacturer and it does the same job, no water needed.We did a test:Over a 2.5hr approx period the temperature went down by 1 degrees C and did not drop again.You get the comfort of cool air on you, it wont change an environment though. So 30 degree heat will be 29 degree heat with a fan blowing on you. Sent it back and getting another of the "normal" fan towers.

How have I managed without this type of fan all these years. Am so impressed and so cool, thanks to the chilled water/ ice packs that this fan uses to produce a lovely cool refreshing breeze.it comes with 2 ice packs , a remote control, and a manual. It’s a good size but so quiet. I have ordered another for the bedroom. Highly recommended!

Als ich den Ventilator bestellt habe, wurde mir angezeigt er ist vorhanden, in der AB hieß es, er ist nicht auf Lager. Also stornierte ich die Bestellung und er wurde dann zufälligerweise genau in diesem Moment an UPS übermittelt und die Stornierung lief schief. Obwohl ich eigentlich 4 Wochen hätte warten müssen? Naja, eine Woche später war er allerdings dann da.Da ich in einer Dachgeschosswohnung lebe und ich dringend einen Kühler für mich und mein Haustier gebraucht habe, lies ich den Kauf mal durchlaufen und habe die Ware angenommen und muss sagen trotz der Verwirrung mit der Lieferung ist er wirklich super.Der Aufbau war einfach, ich musste nur den Turm auf die Drehplatte klemmen und den Wassertank anschließen.Er kühlt gut durch, hat einen Wassertank den man mit 2 mitgelieferten Kühlpacks füllen kann. Er hat 4 stufen, laut und leise etc. Er kühlt unser Wohnzimmer angenehm runter. Kann man empfehlen.

... pour moi qui ne suis pas prête à installer une clim dans l'immédiat. Il est très silencieux même à vitesse 4. Je ne retire pas la pompe à chaque remplissage, je préfère mettre de l'eau à l'aide d'une carafe avant d'y ajouter les blocs réfrigérants. L'assemblage du socle et son montage sont faciles si la notice d'emploi est bien suivie. La télécommande est aussi, bien pratique. Franchement, je ne regrette pas mon achat qui m'a été livré avec 10 jours d'avance!

I think this is the sweet spot of value for price. Has the same shortcomings inherent to any evaporative cooler (needs airflow, arid climate, can only be so effective, can make room swampy if these criteria aren't met) but it feels high quality, absolutely is as effective as could be hoped, is not overly noisy. The ice packs are a nice touch. Most annoying thing about it is filling the water tank, you have to remove the pump each time and reach your hand into the full reservoir to put it back. I don't know how/if other models get around this tho, probably how they all work

Formschön, leise und erfüllt seinen Zweck.Die Wasser/ Eisakku Funktion überzeugt nicht sonderlich. Es wird eher recht stickig im Raum, durch die hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit.

C'est une tour avec une ventilation très performante. Son fonctionnement à l'eau donne un air un peu plus frais qu'une ventilation classique, cependant pour ce qui me concerne, en plaçant un thermomètre devant le flux d'air, celui-ci n'a pas baissé en température. La nuit en laissant tourner en vitesse minimale, le rafraîchissement est appréciable et le bruit reste supportable, surtout quand il fait 29 degrés dans la chambre.Ça n'est pas un climatiseur mais un bon compromis entre ventilateur classique et climatisation, à un tarif correct et avec une consommation électrique réduite par rapport à un climatiseur. Je suis satisfait de mon achat.
