very easy on stomach and yet effective

I have been using this product for a couple of months now to replace one to which I had become desensitized. This product as well as others should hopefully never have to be used in perpetuity as these are for the most part bandaids to a digestive problem. However until you discover what the underlying cause of constipation is, these are oftentimes necessary. I have a difficult time more so than others in having a dosage be effective, so I had to take more than others to have an effect. But I have found the product to be effective in keeping my system running smoothly if I take two a day. One a day was insufficient for me. However as I said, I am more desensitized to herbs because I have had to use them for a few years. I suspect that the average person will only need one for a day or two to have the desired effect, and I don't think taking this periodically will cause any kind of dependency. I find that except for maybe a couple of times, I have had no cramping and just the urge to go normally. I recommend this product and will continue to take it. Oh, and for the best effect, take it at night before bed as your digestive system starts really kicking in in the morning.

Works really well. At first seemed very gentle on the gastro system. I thought, nice, I could get used to this. But I found that it can't use too many days in a row or there are consequences. For the occasional nice gentle clean out.

This is the best laxative you’ll ever find!! It will keep your stools regular for four days after taking one. However, use caution and start slowly. It only works on the food around when you take it. For example: if you take it in the morning it will work with breakfast but not dinner. That causes a problem because the hard stools will be shot out by the soft ones. Also, one capsule only works for a BIG meal. If you take it and don’t eat enough you will be pooping acid!! I break up a capsule and mix about 1/6 of it in water and take it every time I eat something. It doesn’t taste too bad,it just tastes like aloe (which I don’t like). I hold my breath and eat something after. I can’t even taste it if I do that.

I've been using Aloe Ferox for over 20 years. I had a history of severe ulcerative colitis and a colon that was not formed quite right since birth causing constant constipation issues. A natural doctor put me on Aloe Ferox in an effort to prevent the doctors from cutting part of my colon out. It worked! Over the years I found it not only kept me "going" but soothed the lining of the colon so that now I hardly ever have an issue with colitis. The doctors have been pleased with my colonoscopy results (although the lining will be stained if one takes long term aloe - not really a concern for me what color it is as long as it is healthy). I was originally on a different brand but had to switch when it no longer was available. This brand seems to be just as effective. Over the 20+ years, I have never had to increase the dose to get the same effect (I take two of these each evening). Can't say what would be good for others, but Aloe Ferox has been a "gut saver" for me.

I had so much hope for this product after reading reviews and doing research. Initially I purchased this product for my 8 year old son who chronically complains of stomach aches due to a back up of poop in his system. I tried the clean out using Miralax and was hit or miss on regular doses for him. Aloe Ferox was supposed to be the clean out he needed. When the product first came, with reasons of my own, I decided to try it out first. I began with one capsule and 24 hours later there was no change. Just what felt like indigestion. I took another and also 24 hours later there was nothing more than regular movements. On day 3, I upped the dose to two capsules and continued that way for three more days. Still nothing abnormal. Regular BM's and if I might say so, slightly more constipated. The indigestion subsided for a day but then returned. So, it didn't work for me. I began my son on a half capsule (by the way, if you try to empty out any contents of the capsules in liquid, it doesn't really dissolve and is SO bitter that it CANNOT be consumed!) and then the next day up to a whole capsule. He's been taking a capsule a day for five days and no noticable difference. He says he might be making an extra trip to the toilet but nothing else to report. And no change in stomach discomfort.

I need something really strong when it comes to laxatives. I had been buying 450mg aloe ferox products for awhile but have switched to this product because I can take less capsules and in the end it comes out to be more cost effective. because their potency is so good. Plus, the potency has been consistent with every order. I have found with aloe ferox products that consistent potency is not so common. One lot might work great and another not so well even though the milligrams are the same. I highly recommend this product.
