not even 2 years old and it's dead. Look at the reviews...unfortunately my contractor sold me a POS.

I have had this unit installed for about 5 years. No problems or issues. Cools down or heats 800+ sq. foot area easily. Unit is in an open floor plan where kitchen and living rooms meet. Even when cooking, kitchen stays comfortable. Very low sound during operation. Only hear low fan sound when first turned on or outside temp. is very high and unit stays on high. Most times you can't hear it at all. Even running at high, unit is very quiet. Didn't give five stars only because unit does the job it was designed for and there is nothing exceptional. I very rarely give five stars to anything unless it goes beyond my expectations. This is not a negative for the unit, I'm just saying unit performs as expected and does it very well. Outside portion of unit is extremely quiet as well.

Unit has 1 year and does not cool the area as good as previous 18,000 btu unit that lasted for more than 15 years. Has been the same since new, there is nothing wrong with it, is just that does not cool enough. 10 feet from the unit I need to turn on the ceiling fan in order to "feel" the air. Waste of money, there are better less expensive units. I have 4 other units in my home, all different brands, and this is the only one I don't like, too bad that it is in my bedroom.
