Great turntable accessory
After a lot of reading and research I decided to purchase a record weight, i know some people swear by them and some think they are smoke and mirrors, anyway I figured for the money why not give it a try, at worst it looks really cool, so I'm now using this on my Pro-ject table, There is no issues with the performance of the table, everything works as it should, no clearance issues with a dust cover as I don't have one...as to the overall sound, it is hard to tell, I am currently listing to Dave Brubeck's "Take five" the drums are clean and natural, as is the piano...hard to do a side-by-side comparison, but I know it has not taken anything away from the sound...The overall the fit and finish on the weight is fantastic, looks and feels great, the box and the packing may have been the best of any product I have ever purchased, just a great job...So far I'm really satisfied with my purchase, would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice weight at a fair price.

Boy, you're gonna carry that weight...
I can't say that I hear a difference in my vinyl, but the weight makes sense as far as reducing slippage and maintaining surface contact with the platter. Realize, however, this also calls for a suitable mat. The felt one that came with my Technics turntable seems unbecoming of the high quality of the turntable itself. I'm currently employing a cork base mat topped with a leather dear hide. I tried an acrylic mat, as well, but feel this pairing works best. Now, back to the weight. It is a beautiful piece, presented in a nice custom wooden box. The weight is light to medium heaviness. I couldn't imagine bringing too much extra weight to bear on the turntable motor, but subsequent reading has suggested that it wouldn't be an issue. Based on that, I would be inclined to go a little heavier if I bought a turntable weight again. But certainly no complaints about this one. Wonderful color and craftsmanship.

Very good record weight, GREAT price, nice case. Not sure it (or any record weight) improves sound quality, though.
Compared to the highly-reviewed Pro-Ject record puck, which I tried, this one is about half the price and just as nice. Even better in some ways. The Pro-Ject puck weighs about 2 pounds. I’m uncomfortable with that heavy a weight. The Riverstone Jazz weighs 13 ounces, which seems just right - plenty heavy to keep the record firmly planted on the platter but not so heavy as to put a strain on the motor.I bought it in Merlot red, which is a nice change from the typical silver or black that most record pucks/clamps come in.The case is nice. It’s hinged and there’s a little hook on the front so you can latch it closed. In contrast, the top and bottom halves of the Pro-Ject case are unconnected and there’s no way to securely shut the case. Not a big deal, really, unless you want to move it. Then you have to put rubber bands around the whole thing to keep it from falling apart. There are two possible negatives you should know about before purchasing:First, it is about 1/4” too tall to be able to close the dust cover while playing a record. This isn’t a problem for me; I usually play records with the dust cover open, or I just take it off. If you care about this, measure the height between your platter and the dust cover. You need 1.5” of clearance to be able to close the dust cover with a record and this puck on the platter.Second, you should temper your expectations about any benefits to sound quality. I think there is some serious placebo effect in the audiophile community, as those of us with disposable income chase every possible source of even marginal improvements in sound quality. Theoretically, it seems plausible that keeping the record firmly connected to the platter could only help. And this weight doesn’t cost much at all (the Pro-Ject is $85 and I’ve seen many priced at $150 or more). So it doesn’t hurt to try it. But it’s not going to make a warped record flat.

Excellent results from a quality product
I have now been using the Riverstone Audio ‘Jazz 380’ Record Weight for 6 months. It performs very well, applying enough weight to ensure stability of contact between record to platter - it also helps reduce the effects when the record is slightly warped. As a result, sound quality is improved in both detail, definition and soundstage. It is worth noting that this is an exceptionally well made product. The quality workmanship that it has taken to make it is far beyond any similar I’ve seen. From machining to the lustrous ‘ocean blue’ coloured finish I am very impressed.Shopping to the UK was fast and the people at Riverstone Audio kep informed of shipping status.Highly recommended

So far a very nice record weight
I don't notice a lot of impact on the sound but it's there, and I rarely get to listen carefully to really hear a difference. There is a slight noticeable improvement in clarity and imaging, probably due to the increased stability of the record on the platter. I mostly purchased this to help reduce warps and it does have an impact on that, though not dramatic. But...any improvement helps and I wasn't looking for miracles at the weight of this stabilizer. The weight seems perfect for mid-fi turntables that don't have a substantial platter bearing, so it's probably perfect for most people playing records. It's well made, looks good and has the perfect weight for most situations. If you're using a TD-124 or 301/401 or something like that, you may want something heavier. If not, this is probably ideal.

It is beautiful, very well made and works great
It is beautiful, very well made and works great! I am giving it three stars because I can’t shut the lid because of its height. I thought about sending back but decided to keep it.

Impressively over-packaged, well made item, dubious value and didn't fit
A few things:The item is packaged in about 9lbs of protective wrap, the wooden display box, brass(ed) plaque on the front and overall packaging probably add $10 to the sale price. At which point, the weight is just that, a well engineered solid piece of aluminum. I wasn't able to hear any difference in the playback primarily because the dustcover of my record player didn't close with the wight on the record. A shame since these are fairly universal in size within a certain tolerance.I have decided to return the device. I just don't see the ROI, and I don't need a wooden box to "display" a weight for a record player. That's just a waste.

Nice clamp
Nice clamp, low profile allows it to remain on table when the dust cover is closed. Looks sharp, well made.
