Absolutely wonderful bag at a great price!The bag came carefully wrapped and shipped. The bag is wrapped in plastic (to keep the leather moist?), and then wrapped in a cloth drawstring bag. It comes with a note, signed by the maker, with care instructions on the back. The leather is not stiff, but not soft - yet. From the good quality of the leather, I expect it to soften and deepen in color as it seasons. The color is a good, new cowboy brown. It is supposed to darken with use and time. The buckles are solid and good quality. They came individually wrapped and covered to protect them and the leather during shipping. The zippers seem to be a good quality metal, not cast or plastic. Mine is the 15-inch messenger bag. It is beautiful. I love the small pocket up front, and the zipper compartment in the back as well. The interior is divided into three compartments, and covered with an army green canvas. The middle interior compartment is padded, and has two smaller pockets at the back of it. A third interior compartment is zippered. So, that’s one small, belt-latched compartment in the front; one zippered compartment on the front; three interior areas: a plain one in the front; the middle one padded with two pockets (and some leather pencil/pen holders!); and the third interior compartment being zippered. Then there’s a zippered pocket on the back as well. All the hardware seems to be of good quality, and looks great. Buckles are double riveted. The leather is stiff enough to stand on its own, increasing the ease of use at a desk. The shoulder strap is a two-piece, well made leather strap with a pad. It is strong, but flexible, so it doesn’t bite the shoulders.This is not a swanky, polished, high-fallutin’ attache. It is a “everyday people”, proletariat, great quality, leather messenger bag. Get it.

This is a beautiful bag. I was worried it might not be that great quality wise since it was so inexpensive, but it is REALLY nice. The inner dividers are padded to protect your laptop or tablet and the strap has a padded piece that moves to protect your shoulder from the buckle. I have the large iPad Pro and it barely fit with its keyboard case. Just an FYI. It took some creativity, but the bag was wide enough to get all my schoolbooks in it. I also love that it came with a cloth dust cover. Very nice touch. The bag is packaged very carefully with all the buckles covered and neatly folded to lay flat. It's the little things that let you know the manufacturer cares about the product as much as you do.

This bag is awesome and for the money it's worth what I'm about to say. The color of the bag is great, I like the canvas inside the bag (I'm a male), it has snaps on the "belt like" fasteners for easy open and closing, and the zippers work smoothly with zero snagging. The packaging is a nice touch as it comes in a fancy bag with a nice note from the designer/manufacturer.The downside is that when it arrived it literally smelled like a petting zoo. To be honest, I oddly like the earthy outdoorsy smell of a petting zoo, but this is like bringing that smell into your home and its potent. I left it outside to air out for a few days. Little if any change in the smell. It started to rain so I put in the garage for a few days. It still smelled so I thought I have a fancy dryer that can dry sweaters without tumbling them around so I put the bag in the dryer on very low heat on the rack so it wouldn't tumble. Maybe it helped, maybe it didn't, not sure. Before writing a review I tried one more thing...I got a garbage bag, but the messenger bag in there, and sprinkled arm and hammer carpet cleaner all over the messenger bag. I left it in there for a few days and then vacuumed all the powder off the bag. That was the ticket! It worked, but now it had an overpowering smell of the carpet powder so I had to air it out again, but I think it was worth. The bag is awesome and similar bags can cost hundreds without having the handmade rustic look this one has. After all I wasn't looking for a bag a 16 year old kid would walk around with, I wanted a bag for the office that I could carry while wearing a suit, slacks, or jeans and would look great. This bag is perfect in all those situations. Don't give up on, spend the time to get that smell out and you'll love it!

The bag is beautiful. But it’s got two problems, one annoying the other fatal.1. The annoying: the straps that latch the bag closed and the two sides of the shoulder straps are difficult thicknesses. One is thin and flexible and the other is thick and ridged. Minor quality control issue that I wish I would have noticed earlier but probably isn’t a deal breaker for most folks. I would have noticed it earlier had I not been focused on the second problem with the bag.2. The fatal: The bag smells so bad. It smells like a wet animal. I’d read many of the reviews before I purchased the bag and was prepared for a smell but this is beyond a smell, it’s a stench. I figured a couple of days in the garage to air out and the odor would fade. It’s been almost a month and the bag still smells so bad that it’s unusable. I’ve left it in the garage to breath, I’ve cleaned it with a vinegar solution, I’ve sprinkled it with baking soda. I really wanted the bag to work out and convinced myself the smell wasn’t too bad. I took it to work and had to put the bag in an abandoned hallway because the smell of the bag in my office was giving me a headache. I should have returned it right after I opened it but mistakenly thought the smell would decrease, but it hasn’t yet. It’s in a plastic bag in the garage and will stay there for a while to see if the smell fades. If it wasn’t for the smell I’d give the bag a 4/5 (deduction for quality control issue discussed above) but because it’s unusable it can’t get anything higher than a 1/5.

Wow amazing! The presentation is amazing, all buckles and metal bits were protected, a nice note. The bag looks such a good quality for the price and it's way better than my expectations! Highly recommend it. Found my perfect bag for my art stuff, finally!!

This is a fine leather messenger bag. Smells like an Elephant when new though!I wish it was just a bit longer, say an inch. To fit my laptop it's a very tight squeeze. Other than that, Im happy with it.

Well made and filling it’s purpose great at the moment. Bag fits a A4 size box folder in comfortably.Well packaged too.

Lovely bag. Expecting goat smell and having to leave for while for smell to go away but no, it smelt like lovely new leather. Metal attachments strong and stitching perfect. Would recommend and buy again myself, but think it will last a long time

So happy with this bag . My 14 yr old son threw his arms around me when he opened it on Christmas day. Lovely quality . Packed with care . Have just bought the saddle bag you sell for myself . Thank you for the care you put into your product.
