I have a gygabyte b350 gaming 3 mb, a 3080 in top pcie, it has another long slot spare.will it reduce the speed of graphics card pcie?

Hello, No it won't slow the top slot down, according to the manufacturer the 2 bottom slots share bandwidth, but not the top one. This is from their website. The PCIEX4 slot shares bandwidth with the PCIEX1_2 and PCIEX1_3 slots. The PCIEX4 slot operates at up to x2 mode when the PCIEX1_2/PCIEX1_3 slot is populated. The PCIEX4 slot operates at up to x4 mode when both the PCIEX1_2 and PCIEX1_3 slots are empty. I hope this is of some help :)

Will this work in a Mac Pro 3,1? Will it be bootable?

I bought mine for Dell Tower Workstation, but in theory this adapter should work in a MacPro 3,1 since it has both PCIe x4 and x16 slots. The spec sheet says the expansion card is supported by MacOS 9.x but whether OSX has the right drivers I do not know. You might be better just getting a SATA based SSD such as a Samsung 870 and replacing the SATA HDD it is fitted with.

Assuming your m2 slot already occupied? Will fit in any other slot, but at half interface speed if in either of the pcie 2.0 ones. If this is a gaming pc with gfx card and u performance sensitive check the total pcie lane capacity. Not unusual for boards to cut gfx card to x8 when board fully loaded.

The screw holes on the backplate not threaded correctly or the screws supplied are the wrong size? Apart from that the card looks good.

Return it for a replacement as i had the same issue and got replaced
