Great Headset for Razer Enthusiasts
In March 2019 I picked up the Razer Nari Wireless Gaming Headset. The thing boasted THX spatial audio, cooling gel-infused cushions and a noise-canceling microphone. Wanting to simplify my mobile gaming setup with my Late-2018 Razerblade 15 I went ahead and purchased this off of Amazon for a pricey $129.96. I was able to cut down quite a bit on the overall price by passing on the $199.99 Nari Ultimate headset with haptic feedback. Upon arrival, the unboxing was as impressive as any premium razer product. I still have the box sitting in my house to this day because I feel so guilty about throwing them away. There just seems to be so much work that is put into the design of their packaging. I also couldn't have been happier with Amazon's quick shipping and delivery, I know what people say about Amazon, but they provide awesome service. I remember the days of waiting for my 20 GB Maxtor HDD that I found on Pricewatch taking two weeks to process and ship to my house. Upon arrival, I immediately realized how large and heavy this headset was. I was also glad that I didn't purchase the even larger Nari Ultimate headset. Upon initial use, I was surprised by how light and comfortable this headset was on my head. The only discomfort that I found was from wearing them while laying on the couch. Their size was a bit prohibitive when laying my head into a pile of pillows. However, while sitting upright and gaming (their intended use) I found that they were extremely comfortable. I did not get the usual strain from too much pressure being applied by the headset. The cooling gell was also a nice touch especially when you first put them on. Overall I would almost rate them as comfortable as my 2013 Sennheiser PC350 headphones that I use on my main gaming rig still to this day. As for sound quality, the audio from the 2.4 Ghz wireless transmitter has always been great even at a crowded LAN party with lots of interference from other systems. Definitely got a good sense of direction from the 7.1 surround sound when Playing Player Unknown Battle Grounds (PUBG) or Counterstrike:Go. Additionally, the low-frequency range available makes them great for listening to music or watching a movie. The only complaint that I have is the Microphone is not quite as good as the microphone on my aforementioned Sennheiser headset. Don't get me wrong it's pretty good but for whatever reason when I am at a gaming event the channel dedicated to Mic Input seems to be very sensitive to interference. This created moments where I had to reposition my laptop in order to not sounds like a robot. When gaming at home I have never had any issues with the mic quality. te about Wireless Headphones: I will say that having a wireless headset has made me more aware of battery anxiety. I find myself topping off my headset prior to heading out for the day or the weekend. I just don't want to find myself mid-game with no headset and no available charging cable. I will say that the battery on the Razer Nari seems to be pretty sufficient and I've used it for a full 12-hour gaming session at a LAN without running out of juice. After having used the headset for about eight months now I can say that I definitely would have purchased them again. Especially because it pairs so well with the Razer family of products. If I didn't have a Razer Blade laptop I might have gone with another pair from Sennheiser or SteelSeries. That being said if you are already bought into the Razer Family product line I think this headset is a great buy. If you're not, save your money and go with something a little less pricey but with similar functionality.

An excellent product for how much they cost.
Before you read this review you should know that I am not an experienced person with audio, I have never used audiophile headphones and I've never used anything above $150 headphones. Having that said if you still care about my opinion continue to read. Onto the main talking point. In my opinion, Razor did an excellent job tuning the drivers. The sound quality is amazing and when you put them on it feels like you're in your own personal space. There is no active noise canceling in these headphones but there is noise isolation. In my personal testing, the microphone when they're Wireless sounds just fine, It's nothing professional-grade but if you just want to talk to your friends it'll do just fine. RGB works just as expected nothing more nothing less. They've stayed cool for long periods of time, never getting uncomfortable. And the ear cups are also really easy to clean, you quite literally can just pop them off but they stay on really well. So you don't ever have to worry about them falling off during your gaming session. They also auto-adjust so when you put them on, you don't ever have to really mess with them to get them to fit right. And yes they are heavy they do weigh just about a pound. But trust me you get used to it. They're so comfortable that after a while you don't even know they're there anymore. The only thing that I don't like about it is that its micro USB but I'll forgive that since this is a 2017-2018 product.

Should you buy?
Background -------------- It has been a year and a half now that I have had this headset, and have basically used them pretty much every day since then, so I will also be comparing how they have held up since I first bought them. I mostly use them for PC, however, I have used them on PS4 and all of the same pros and cons apply. -------------- What I like -------------- - Comfortable: These are one of the most comfortable headphones I have ever owned, and are still one of the only headphones I can wear for a long period of time without getting a headache. Other than some very minor wear and tear, the cushions have held up very well. - Battery Life: Although the battery life has shortened a little over the years, they still last a decent amount of time, and can sometimes go an entire day without needing to charge. When eventually I do need to charge them, it can take up to an hour or two in order to be fully charged - Sound Quality: Once you turn off THX Spatial Sound, the sound quality is very good, and definitely helps you out in games like Call of Duty or CS:GO when you are trying to listen to footsteps. They also perform well when listening to movies, songs, and other types of media. - Durability: I have dropped these headphones many times on my wooden floor, and I have yet to see any noticeable damage to them. In fact, I can't even see a scratch on them at all. - Portability: These headphones are light, durable, wireless, and come with a slot to put your USB connector in to. Personally I have not traveled with them, but if you are someone that travels a lot and needs a pair of headphones, I would definitely recommend them to you. - Style: Although this a very minor thing, I personally enjoy the look of them, and being able to customize the RGB lights is always a plus. - Options: If you aren't a fan of wireless headphones, these do come with an aux cord to plug into your device with, and can also be used wirelessly with the PS4. - Range: Another minor thing is that can be used from around 20-30 yards away if needed. - Noise Cancellation: These aren't the most noise-canceling headphones in the world, but they are pretty decent. -------------- What I dislike -------------- - Charging: When it comes to charging the headphones while I'm not using them, I have little to no problems. However, if you plan on using them while they are charging, get ready to have to deal with a MAJOR headache. For whatever reason, when you charge them with the cable while they are on, regardless of how much charge is left in them, they will constantly turn off in random increments for about 30 minutes to an hour, making most games unplayable, but we're not done there. Most of the time when the headphones turn off, they make a beep signaling that they have just turned off, however, sometimes there won't be a beep, which you might not notice if you are talking to other people or playing a game that has quiet moments, which can be extremely annoying. This problem has only gotten worse over time. Glitches: When I first got them, I wasn't experiencing too many bugs, but over time I have had random beeps that are extremely loud, annoying, can last up to 10 seconds, and cut off audio from my PC. (These beeps are separate from the ones that signal that the battery is getting low.) Also, if you have the power saving option turned on and the volume is too low, there's a chance that your headset will turn off, regardless if there's still sound playing or not. There are also many other glitches that I have encountered over the years, but can't name off the top of my head. Mic Quality: With a headset at this price, you would not expect to get a microphone that has this poor of quality. I have had $10 mics that I've ordered off of amazon that sound better than this one. If you are specifically looking for a headset with a good microphone, this is not the headset for you. No Bluetooth: If you are looking to use these headphones wirelessly with anything else other than a PS4 or a computer, you are out of luck. These headphones do not have Bluetooth and instead connect through a wireless USB dongle, which also creates a new problem, as Razer cannot replace it if it breaks or is lost. (I understand that Razer made this decision because many people don't have built-in Bluetooth into their PC, but I still wish it used Bluetooth instead of a USB dongle.) -------------- Should you buy? -------------- DEPENDS - If none of the cons concern you, then I would say yes. - If at least one of the cons concern you, I would highly suggest looking at other headsets before deciding on buying this one.

Great, but at a little bit higher cost (as all razer products are)
For as long as I've played games I've tried alot of headphones; turtle beach, astro, Triton, hyperx, afterglow, you name it I've tried it. I stayed away from razer for awhile due to the basic headset designs for a slightly higher price (7.1, 5.1, mixamps) however these are arguable the best headphones I've ever had. The sound quality is fantastic (not as good as the Astros I had, but these are a third of the cost). The fact the USB connection is so simple and can be stored in the headset is FANTASTIC. I can swap from PC to ps4 in moments as compared to with the Astros I had to reconnect the optic cable, USB, aux, etc and it was a huge hassle. Batter life is average, about a charge every night to every other night (with chroma active). The mic is good and retractable which is cool. They're very comfortable and I can easily wear them for hours without feeling that pressure on your head. The special sound is interesting. I find myself able to identify players locations by sound better than people with 7.1 surround sound. It's very clear where they are (depending on game of course). Also the fact you can use Razer Synapse to tune the headset is FANTASTIC. Cranked the bass up and you can feel the impact of every shot you take and every impact near or on you. All in all, fantastic headset, if you have the money for it grab it

Audio Cutouts, Terrible Battery, Horrible Microphone. Do not buy.
This is without a doubt the worst headset I've ever used. I've troubleshooted for hours to try and get this headset into a decently usable state and have decided to return it after two days of owning it. The Pros: Build Quality, Comfortable to wear and feels sturdy Range, For a wireless headset this preforms as well as most. No problems with disconnects when walking around your house Software Mixer, Cool feature, it works right out of the box and allows you to swap between Voice Comms / Game Audio with a knob on the left ear-cup. Very well done. The Cons: Default Volume - Without maxing out the EQ in the "Razer Synapse" software this headset is unusable with how quiet it is. You'll still be straining your ears trying to make out what people are saying in Youtube videos with how bad it is. Razer Synapse - This is the worst software I've had to use for any gaming peripheral. It won't detect the Headset as connected half the time, it refuses to open if the system has been running for more than a few hours or if you've unplugged the wireless USB receiver and plugged it back in. It's unintuitive to use and restricts usage of the software if you don't wanna make a Razer account. And it also causes problems with System Media keys, if you play Counter Strike, pressing play/pause on any connected device (NOT EVEN RAZER DEVICES) will cause you to drop your weapon, from what I've googled this has been a known issue with the software for years now and there's no fix. Battery - Abysmal. The advertised battery life goes way down if you crank the volume to a usable level. I've been lucky to get a few hours out of it at most. I've disabled RGB, Audio Enhancements, anything to make it last longer but to no avail. Even when plugged into the wall, with a beefy USB Power Adapter, the battery will still drain when being used, meaning this headset will die when plugged in. Low Battery Indicator - Extremely annoying and there's nothing you can do about it. At around 30% battery remaining (Which you'll always be at since the battery drains while you're using it) every two minutes the audio will cut out for five seconds to play two beeps. There is no way to alter the threshold from 30% or disable it completely. Also it bugs out quite often and loops the beeping, I've had instances where I could not hear games for fifteen seconds due to the low battery indicator playing over and over again. Audio Cut Outs - On top of the Low Battery Indicator, when the battery is low it will cut out audio erratically for seemingly no reason aside from trying to conserve battery. You will be effectively deaf with this thing for a few seconds every minute, ruining immersion and making you miss audio queues in games. THX "Enhancement" - Trash. This is not a worthy selling point. It made audio sound muddy and misleading on where it was coming from in competitive games. You're better off disabling it. Microphone - Also Trash. I wasn't expecting much but compared to similarly priced headsets this mic falls flat on it's face. I've been through drive-throughs with better quality microphones. If I could rate this thing zero stars I would. I bought this headset discounted for Black Friday and it's not even worth a quarter of what I paid. I went back to my old headset and will be avoiding Razer as a brand completely for the rest of time. TL;DR Audio Cutouts, Terrible Battery, Terrible Mic, Terrible Software. Don't buy.

Best headset I’ve owned.
The sound quality is great, the headset is extremely comfortable given its size, but the mic is terrible. It has to be right up against your mouth in order to pick up any sound. And to people who hear you, you’ll sound distant and quiet. The battery life is under average of most wireless headsets, so if I could return it I would, so if you’re considering buying this, you should pass it up and find something else. Edit* 5-15-2025 I’ve had these for 6 years and they’re still going strong. The battery life. I misjudged completely. There have been multiple times when I charge them all night and don’t have to charge them for a week. They’re also extremely durable. Mine have been dropped, sat on, bounced around in a moving truck, accidentally kicked once or twice. They’re still comfortable after all these years. The mic still has to be pressed up against your face but I no longer notice it and I was able to get my voice louder on the mic. So no complaints at all. 100% recommend this headset. Razer knew what they were doing with these

Decent cans, not the best, not the worst
First off I LOVE RAZER. I have their laptop, mouse, mouse pad, headset (this one and a second) and love the brand. I wanted some wireless cans so I bought these... They are comfortable. Not really noise canceling, but because rub go around your whole ear they do dampen external noise. They sounds decent, not bad, not great. I find the 7.1 simulation sound to be marginal at best. I usually keep mine in stereo mode and think they sound better. They fit great, comfortable and stable, they don’t slide off or move around. The on ear controls are easy to reach and work great. Battery life is terrible. You have to turn off the chroma lighting to get reasonable battery life out of them. Besides when you are wearing you can’t see the lights anyway... I get around 6 hours of time on my headset, they aren’t that old, so maybe I have a flawed battery? Others say they get 10-14 hours on a single charge. Who knows. As mentioned sound quality is just ok, for the price and the brand I expected better sound. They are a bit bass heavy in my opinion, if you like that then these will please you, I like a bit more balance personally. The directional sound works well. You can hear if someone is coming from right or left. If you turn on surround sound simulation it adds more depth, sound coming from behind for example, but the quality of the sound decreases. I think I’m general you’ll get better sound from a wired set.

I am a 35yr old quad and this is a GREAT Headset ! Work with USB dongle, or wired 3.5 mm Jack
OK so I’m sick of seeing people leave bad reviews for these when they clearly did not buy them for the CORRECT application !!! The headphones work one of two ways either 1.) WIRED directly to ANYTHING with a 3.5MM JACK (NOT XBOX CONTROLLERS) Or 2.) with the USB DONGLE provided (that clicks in and out of the headset itself when not being used) which is also a cool feature When using the dongle it can plug directly into PlayStation for seamless experience but if you are looking to go into an iPad with or without charge she will need a USB to lightning 3.0 Adapter I recommend getting the one directly from Apple I see a lot of people post videos on YouTube on how you need a USB powered hub in order to run headsets like these but that is NOT The case these do not need any extra power as they have their own charging and battery source built-in but the dongle does not need very much iPads will provide such power as it’s only for communication not actually powering the headset itself I am a quadriplegic and I like these very much they are easy to operate and I I am able to use them just like any other person with good hands so, FEEL AT EASE If you are planning to connect in one of these two ways then you will not have a problem obviously they do NOT work with XBOX CONTROLLER But will work with anything that has a USB receiver plug...I hope this review helps you !!

Best headphones for comfort I've seen yet. Never using another headset
I have a very big head and very big ears. I've struggled for 3 months looking for a gaming headset that I can wear for long periods of time without getting sore. After trying around 10 different headsets, the Razer Blackshark and this were the only ones that I could wear without my ears feeling any pressure points or discomfort. PROS - Inner ear cup dimensions are 2.5"x2.5" wide and 1" deep. Super plush foam and the cloth covering that presses against your head are quite comfy. - Ear cups swivel 90°+20° so they mold to my head shape. Sound leakage is decently minimal. - Head-sling cables stretches to the max to fit my huge head. No pressure points with the 0.5" thick pad since it spreads the pressure very nicely. Very easy to wear all day unlike the other headsets with a thin cloth as the sling. - Metal band was a bit tight at first. It's easily adjustable however, since after bending it open a little bit, it's now the perfect balance between staying securely on my head and light clamping pressure. - The mic is great, nothing spectacular, but it gets the job done. Never had any issues with sound quality/volume. Retractable feature is very convenient compared to other headsets where you have to either remove the mic or have it in the way all the time. - First time going wireless and it is so much more convenient I don't think I'll ever go back to wired. It beeps when I leave the room with it on my head and go down stairs, but I only ever use it when I'm in my room anyways. - Battery-life is good, I use it around 10hrs/day and I only have to charge every ~3 days. - Sound quality is very nice. I'm no audiophile so I'm not gonna nitpick. All I can say is that I've gamed, watched Netflix, and had videocalls with consistently great sound quality. Nothing sounds muffled or anything. - Volume/chat/mute controls are easy to use. - Software app works great, I can customize RGB and other aspects just fine. CONS - The headset as a whole is quite beefy. It adds 2.75" to each side of my head - Have to hold power button for 3 seconds to turn on/off instead of clicking on/off (very nitpicky personal preference). - Not super stable so I wouldn't wear this to work out or anything. - Unsure how water-resistant it is. - Heard from some other reviews that the swiveling earcup connection is prone to breaking. It does seem kinda flimsy and like it might break if I drop it. However I've never had any accidents so as long as you're careful you should be fine. I've used this headset as my daily driver for 1.5 years and I LOVE it. It has every single feature I've been looking for (biggest earcups on the market, retractable mic, head band sling, wireless USB). Razer blackshark would've been my next choice if it had a retractable mic. It depends on what you want to use your headphones for. I use this exclusively with my PC and it fits everything I wanted in a headset. The most important factor for me is the comfort. It doesn't matter if they're the best sound quality ever put into a headset, if I can't wear it comfortable for a day I'm not gonna buy it. A bit pricey originally, but I got this on sale for $90 and I would gladly buy again if it ever breaks.

Great device with a few annoyance
Awesome band which doesn't hurt the head, with great audio quality for games. Ears feel hot after long usage even with the cooling pad. And the voice and game balance wheel is a little annoying as it's easy to accidentally change. But overall, I love it! Great upgrade coming from the ManO War 7.1

Very fragile, low communication distance and heavy
I feel the need to write a product review on these headphones - I've had them for about 8 months. When I first put them on, they felt good, sounded great and I loved the wireless ability of them. In terms of sound, they are excellent quality. Now to the bad parts - Very bad parts...If you look at the photo, the majority of stress on the headphones is positioned where the headphones meet the head piece - It's this little plastic part that allows for the headphones to rotate. The problem is that because the headphones are so heavy, it puts a lot of stress and pressure on those pieces over time - Both of those little plastic parts broke on me (You can't see but the other was glued) Not from stepping on them, or sitting on them, or my dog eating them...Because over time I lightly placed them on my computer desk and picked them back up by the headphone component and the plastic slowly gave away and broke in my hands like a cheap croissant...Of course, you can't return them because their argument is "You obviously broke them with some kind of force"...I'm telling you, I treated these babies like gold especially when you pay $120 or more for a piece of hardware. Extremely frustrating buying something that is going to just fall apart before a year. Add in the fact that I couldn't walk more than 6 feet away from my computer before the thing beeped maliciously into my ear that it was out of range. If you do buy them, you must be EXTREMELY gentle with them or they will break Not worth the money and risk
