With that out of the way, this is easily the best book on PHP I've come across. It covers everything you'd need to get up to speed on PHP development. It's an extremely well-structured and thorough book, but the finest component by far is how PHP capabilities are introduced gradually and in context of the state of the practical examples being constructed at the moment. As each practical example's capabilities are expanded, more extensive explanations of previously discussed PHP topics are delved into. This implies that you will not learn everything there is to know about each PHP feature all at once, but rather when it is appropriate, which I believe is an excellent approach to learning. After examining a variety of different PHP learning tools, I would conclude that this book is a must-have reference for PHP programming, and the overall learning experience is rather enjoyable. This is an excellent PHP learning resource, which I wholeheartedly recommend!

Fantastic Starter Book
I gave this book 5 stars because while studying for my web development degree if I knew this book was out there I would snapped it up, anybody starting their journey into PHP or MySQL this is the book for you. If you're about to start university and you know the languages contained on the course involve PHP/MySQL then this book will help in buckets, it's also handy to have as a reference guide when you have the knowledge.

I didn't realise just how big this book was when I got it. But its easy to read and work through dispite its weight XD

Web Development Book
This book has beautiful visuals, fully colored designs, big bold text to explain the concepts, also includes some advanced topics. Everything is I learned for this job I learned while on the job so I'm basing this first impression on this.

Excellent!!! The secret of getting ahead is getting started...
This is the third series I got, HTML&CSS and JavaScript &J Query as the first 2. Easy to read and well written. Not much depth which is good for beginners.. I must say also use the recommended extra resourses provided and take it slow with lots of practice. Make sure you type out the code rather copy and paste. Remember this is like learning a new language, so put in the effort in the first 4 chapters and it will pay of as you progress in the book. Build something as you go along, to practice what you learn, which you can progress as you go through the different section. By the time you get to chapter 4 you should be playing around with objects and classes!!! Good luck and enjoy coding!!! Update: 03 April 2022 Just realised the summary of chapter 5 does not mention regular expressions, which was covered in 4 pages 212 to 215. This is a cool topic great for performing frontend validation. Not a negative but I think it would be nice to have a small summary. :-)
