Smokehouse 100-Percent Natural Chicken Barz Dog Treats, 16-Ounce

I tend to buy Smokehouse brand because I have always been satisfied with the products they produce, and these are no exception. These are a good size for a bigger treat ( I have pugs and these are a "big treat" for a dog that size) or you can break them down to sue as training rewards. These are crunchy, not chewy, and they tend to be eaten pretty quickly, and that's why I consider them to be treats rather than chews. Still, it's a good product, it's reasonably priced, it's from a company I trust and since I don't give 4-5 per day or treat them as part of my dogs daily diet, I've had no problems with the causing either stomach upset or diarrhea. My advice to those people who have had that problem is to look at your habits in giving treats more than recommended, rather than blaming the product itself.

I have been buying Chicken Barz 16 oz bags from Amazon.com for at least 6 months ... my dog likes them. Since I want only made in USA chicken treats, not made in China, I plan to continue to buy them again.When I had a recent experience with the product that was uncharacteristic, the response from the company really impressed me.Here's what happened: My most recent delivery (from Amazon) had an off odor, so I returned them to Amazon. I don't really know why this particular batch had an odd odor, and maybe it is in my head ... but when the replacement bag had the same odor, I contacted the company.I heard back within a day of my email. The owner asked me to send them back directly to the company at their expense, for replacement and review.Bottom line: I have the utmost confidence and respect in a company that stands behind its product, and is so responsive to its customers, I have been very satisfied with the product in the past, and plan to buy it again in the future. I am sure that this product experience is not representative (I have purchased many prior bags), and the customer service has impressed me. Give them a try.

I have a VERY selective (i.e. fussy) dog regarding both her food and training treats. I had tried a variety of USA made treats without success until I stumbled across the Smokehouse Chicken Barz, made in the USA. She is absolutely bonkers over these treats. I break them up into bite size pieces. I use them as part of her indoor and outdoor training routine. The only problem is that the dogs in her weekend play group ALL LOVE THESE TREATS so I become the human they gather around- all sitting politely waiting for a chicken barz treat. Another person writing a review wondered from where the chicken originated. I don't know the answer to that concern but I also don't know where the chicken in my grocery comes from. I do know that these treats are listed as made in the USA. I would have given them 5 stars if they weren't so pricey ($22.00/lb.)

I have bought both these chicken barz most recently and the chicken jerky. They sell the cheaper version of the jerky which l purchased by accident once. (China on back). I immediately sent them back and was given the correct MADE IN USA treats. Yes some of the jerky is too hard for my 2 lol Malteses' little teeth but they love them so much I had to come up with some alternatives. The larger harder pieces I crush and sprinkle over their food. (Really picky eaters and this is great incentive). Also I have soaked a couple pieces in warm water overnight. They love them! But don't try to save without refrigerating. Goes bad fast. All in all, been giving these treats to them for over a year, have vet check out all their functions and we both give 2 thumbs and 2 paws up!

I ordered these when trying to find a chicken treat that is USA made. For years I had bought the Waggin Train brand. My dog loved them, but had a diarrhea every time she went "number two" and neither we nor our vet could figure out why. Finally after seeing the story about chews made in China, I stopped buying them. Within a week my dog had totally stopped her diarrhea! She has hardly had it one time since and that was last year. Back to topic - the bag does say USA made which is comforting, but the chews are very hard and crunchy. I just rescued a male Shih Tzu and he ate them, but my girl wasn't impressed. I am still searching for a USA made chew that is not hard as a rock.

ok so i have a dachsund....hes a mini but he weighs around 20 pounds because he is very long.....he is very crazy and also very picky....about people and food lol. Well, i used to get the chicken kabobs sold by smokehouse but i recently tried these and my dog begs for them.....when he gets one he gets so excited and chews it right up.....they break nice and easy too so he doesnt have a hard time chewing them like other dog products such as greenies and jumbones. If you have a dog that you love and chrerish and he or she means the world to you?? BUY THEM THESE THEY DESERVE IT!!!!!! I will be buying and buying till there is no more of these because i dont know anywhere in MA. that sells them....best product ever and its MADE IN THE USA!!!!!!

My dog is a picky eater, a lot of dog snacks and treats she won't even touch. However, my dog loves these treats. We have gone through several bags of these snacks, and here's what I can say. They are made in the USA, and are priced fairly compared to some other USA-made snacks which cost twice as much for the package half this size. I like that the ingredients are simple (chicken and vitamin E), without added vegetable glycerin, corn starch, rice flour or similar filler junk. Overall, I highly recommend these.
