Good Story...Excellent Supporting Cast
I enjoyed this book; just when it became formulaic another twist was thrown in. Smith laid down a lot of hints about the next book in the story Jo's Journey. There is also a possible spinoff with Ricki and the Grand Ruler getting together. Once again the relationship between the women provides an interesting counterpoint to the romantic tale. Instead of River, Jo, and Storm forming the three musketeers Star is joined by the ailen Mandos. The dynamic duo support one another to mount a rescue of Storm's mate. This story doesn't include as much of the traditional circus element as the first. However, I think there is more practical application of those type of skills to real world situations such as Star taking out two Captain of the Guards in a training session. This is a quick read with the same villian from River's Run. There are a lot of references to the first novel in the series, but Star's Storm can be read as a stand alone novel. Smith provided enough backstory that I was able to recall River's Run without re-reading it.There is a slight bondage element involving restraint during sex. So if you are into that type of thing you won't be disappointed. If you aren't you won't have to wade through whips, chains, and the dark dungeon tango.I'd recommend giving the first two novels in the series a shot. I personally can't wait to see what havoc the circus coming to town will cause in Jo's Journey!

intergalactic fun
Vivid action sequences increased the intensity and really brought forward the suspense of the story. The story was fast paced from cover to cover with new plot twists around every corner. But the novel was so much more than simply blowing things up. Emotions and real life are prominent throughout. World building is also fundamentally built into the story. I enjoyed the way that the religion of Kassis and the mythology behind it was developed. The extra insight into the world and how it works made it all the more real to me.Star is such a little spitfire. She is such a vibrant character who definitely shines as she shows her true worth and mettle. I loved getting to know her. Seeing Jazin’s thoughts and emotions really gave me insight as to how Kassisan males think and the culture at large. The multifaceted development of his character had me falling in love with him from the first time he stuck his foot in his mouth. The romance between these two was intensely sensual. I love how they both had to work at the relationship, that it wasn’t always easy, yet it was always rewarding.Smith has once again created a story that I couldn’t put down set in a world I don’t simply want to read about, but want to move to. This was an unforgettable story about so much more than simple romance.

Epic Sci Fi Series
River, Star, and Jo were abducted by aliens. Each girl if finding out that their abductors are their soul mates who want nothing more than to claim their fragile Earth mates and keep them safe and protected in the lap of luxury for the rest of their livesThis is book 2 featuring the petite yet big hearted Star. Being smaller than most people she has learned to stand up for herself and disprove those who think that small means fragile, demure, and/or passive. Even if it takes saving her big bad mate Jazim to prove it.If it were possible to give this book ten stars I would. It's a contemporary sci fi humorous adventure book that includes an erotic romance between Star and Jazim (thanks again Amazon for taking out tags). It has aliens who are big & bad with alpha personalities who find their mates and want to protect and lap all the creature comforts that they can so the girls know they are loved yet are not put into danger. In this book though the alien needs to be rescued as HE is kidnapped and about to die.Along the way Star makes new friends includes a reptilian female Madas (who I absolutely love to pieces), Gril (I so want to see him taken down a notch or two), Jarmen (stole my heart and affection), Armet, and Dakar. Each personality adds a new dimension to this book that gives life to this fictional world the author has created. There are other characters who breath life into this story but I'll refrain from mentioning them as you'd loose the fun and surprises if I listed them. Viva Le France!!!!!wonderful fantasy sci fi read that has some erotic scenes that are downright steamy but made me a fan because of it's barbarian mentality alpha alien who get taken down by one kick ass Earth female.

A second great book in a series
I loved all the book of this series and I’m on the edges for the next one about Jarmen. But first, Star and Jazin story. We are back at where the previous book left us, with some short flashbacks to remind us of who is who.Star is the younger sister in the duet of flying performer they were before being abducted by aliens. It is how she meet Jazin, one of the heir of the house of Kassis, a technology advanced specie, not so far in aspect of the humans. All three women adopted by the Kassisan are more than meet the eyes, small by the stature but tall by the mind.Jazin as a son of their world’s ruler will have to accept that strength does not always come in large size.As someone will told him about Star :“She will be a mate who can stand by your side, not in your shadow.“Star will have to fight not only for her freedom but also for his, showing Jazin, he has to rely on her and in anyway put her in a box.A good story about confidence in the other.

Star’s Storm
Loved the storyline the characters and how each story in the series flows from one to the other. The interaction between the main characters had me in stitches at times and almost in tears at others.

Very well written and fun to read!
S. E. Smith is a talented writer producing a story line worth reading. She is abducted by aliens along with her sister. Small of stature, an aerialist in the circus, and a spirit that can not be caged, she finds ways to defy her kidnappers and make their lives difficult. Jazin Ja Kel Coradon is the 3rd son of the ruling house of Kassis and part of the alien abductors. Their society have few women that can carry offspring; that explains the kidnapping. The adventures of these two will keep you glued to the book. Enjoy!

wow
I found this author by accident, my current bank account might regret my find, but i totally don't. i'm going to give a broad review here. as i'm going to add this review to every book of S E Smith i have ever bought, I've got them all now. every book of hers i'm assuming here that S E Smith is a woman (it could be a man!) i read the dragon lords books first and went on from there, i'm only just getting around to putting up a review and because of the amount i books i'm just beginning to realize i had just bought, i don't have the time to write individual ones, i'm not a writer i'm a reader. lolthe fact that i preceded to spend the amount of money i spent on to buy all of her books, should tell you what i think of her/his writing. i just wish i had them all to read again for the first time. :)
