This product is usable and it takes a little bit of a knack to know how best to get the most out of it. Because of the thickness of the tip it is difficult to insert under flush tacks. In order to get under the tack I resorted to using a sharp screwdriver to lever up a 1mm, then having done this on a whole load of tacks I then used the tool to quickly pull out the tacks. For me this shouldn't be needed, the tool should be sharp enough to initiate the pull.Before I established my method, described above, I was putting a lot of pressure on the tool trying to get under suborn tacks, not only did this result in blisters but also, one clumsy slip resulted in the tool embedded into the end of my thumb, now that was painful and messy! I had to super glue the injury to save myself from stitches.For the above reasons I only give three stars as the tool is strong and robust, however it doesn't make tack removal as easy as it should be.

Nice tool but weaker than expected - don't use hammer on it too much. I guess I should not have used hammer on it but at times one needs to. It literally snapped at the tip (noticed the jagged pattern on tip, weak point).Otherwise, good tool if used gently, hence 4 star.

I had some draught insulating stuff around my doors which had been tacked in with little pins. When pulling it off, the plastic of the insulation broke in some places, leaving the pins embedded in the wood. I thought I would have terrible trouble getting the pins out as their heads were so small, but it was no problem at all with this little tool!5 stars!

Very happy with these. I bought it to take out the tacks in antique chair the had rusted into the wood as well as the wood being so hard due to age but this worked a treat

On first use it bent at the V notch so it was useless after that, I was using it to lift carpet tacks, so beware budget tools.

Bought this tool for taking out the industrial staples that hold down plywood floorboards. This involves digging the end of the tack lifter into the floor, giving it smack with a hammer a few times then levering it up. Repeat hundreds of times. Yet this little tool is showing no damage despite my lack of care when my old tack lifter fell to bits after just a few dozen staples.Also great for levering nails out when a claw hammer couldn't be used, for example a nail with a smallish head near the corner of a right angle.Cheap but good qulity. Easily earned it money back already.

As a novice in upholstery this little tool has been invaluable for some of the mishaps I have made, it has made light work of removing unwanted tacks, good price and good quality.

This small tool is exceptionally strong and makes removing staples from carpets so easy. It arrived very fast even though it was free delivery. I fully recommend it.

Not able to stretch this tool so awarded one star in the stretch category. Otherwise a good addition to my tool box. Used several times already.

came as an add-on purchase - not essential for upholstery which is what the other purchases were for - but has a role. decent quality piece of kit

This is a great little tool. I have been renovating some antique chairs, full of old tacks.Not sure what I would have done without it. It makes it so easy to remove old tacks.Very pleased with the purchase.

I bought this tool to help me conceal the power cable to the BlackVue dashcam mounted (on the windscreen) in my new Captur. Trying to raise the car's linings, etc. with finger tips gets too painful (for me) but this tool makes the job so easy. I've yet to use it for lifting tacks/pins but I'm sure it'll do the job very well.AS an aside, to prevent any damage to the windscreen I wrapped electrical tape around the tip.

I do not use drawing pins very often but, when I do, removing them from a board so that I can pin up my own notice is a big problem. This solves that problem very emphatically.
