Are the expiry dates on these using the American format (month/day/year) or European format (day/month/year)?

I would have automatically assumed the dates to be month/day, but the packages I have are low numbers — 01/12. The list of ingredients includes the word “flavorings” in case the spelling is helpful. The weight of the package is listed first in grams, then ounces. All information is written first in French, then English. Sorry I can’t be more definitive.
